  • Faithfulness Over Hustle: Obedience in the Small Things
    Feb 3 2026

In this episode, Hala reflects on how God has been gently shifting her away from striving, hustle, and the pressure to “do more for Him,” and toward faithful obedience in the small, everyday things.

Drawing from Romans 5, Matthew 25 (the parable of the talents), the story of Daniel, and Isaiah 61:3, she explores what it truly means to become “oaks of righteousness”—deeply rooted, steady, and formed over time rather than through constant effort or visible achievement.

Through personal reflection and Scripture, Hala shares how God has been inviting her to tend to what He has already placed in her hands: reading Scripture, practicing listening prayer, noticing her spoonfuls of honey, and caring for her family with presence and love.

This episode offers a gentle reminder that spiritual growth doesn’t come from doing more, but from faithfulness with what God has already given.

✨ In this episode, listeners will explore:
    – What Scripture teaches about obedience in small things
    – Why God values faithfulness over visibility and productivity
    – How spiritual formation happens slowly and quietly
    – Releasing hustle culture in faith and daily life
    – Becoming rooted as oaks of righteousness

This episode is for anyone feeling weary from trying to prove their faith or measure spiritual maturity by productivity, and who longs to walk closely with God through simple, faithful obedience right where they are.

  • “Change Your Face”: Recognizing God’s Gentle Prompts and Practicing Self-Control
    Jan 6 2026

Have you ever felt a quiet nudge to stop, listen, or respond differently—and wondered if it was God? In this episode of Spoonfuls of Honey, Hala Sahlman reflects on three powerful “change your face” moments where the Holy Spirit redirected her from giving advice to offering presence, encouragement, and love.

Through personal stories and gentle spiritual insight, Hala shares how God’s voice often comes as an inner knowing rather than an audible sound—and how learning to recognize it can transform our relationships, rhythms, and self-control. This episode is a beautiful starting point for anyone seeking to hear God’s voice more clearly and follow His lead in everyday moments.

    A note from Hala:

This year I’m offering a 6-month 1:1 Shepherding relationship for those who want to deepen their relationship with God and grow in confidence hearing His voice. We meet weekly during the spring and fall, with a natural summer pause built in. I only walk with four people at a time, and when spots are full, I close enrollment. • Luke Challenge: Day 23, Ch 23
    Dec 24 2025

In this Christmas Eve reflection, Hala walks through Luke chapter 23—the crucifixion of Jesus—and shares a deeply emotional response to the misunderstanding, mocking, and injustice Jesus endured. Rather than placing herself in the crowd, Hala finds herself imagining how Jesus must have felt: misunderstood, ridiculed, and silently submitting to the Father’s will.

The moment that becomes her “spoonful of honey” comes from Jesus’ interaction with the criminal on the cross who defends Him and says, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Hala reflects on the relief and tenderness Jesus may have felt in finally being seen and defended—likening it to the healing comfort of a friend standing up for you when you’re being unfairly judged.

This episode invites listeners to sit with the emotional weight of the crucifixion, to notice God’s kindness in meeting us with exactly what we need in hard moments, and to reflect on where they, too, have experienced the sweetness of being seen, known, and defended by love.
