A proposito di questo titolo
Welcome to Spill the Wine – a podcast obviously about WINE! Wine is the one beverage that people seem to think they can't enjoy unless they know something about it, which is quite odd when you think about. But have no fear - we are here to help you learn about wine, debunk some myths, and introduce you to the wonderful wines in Canada. • Spill the Wine Episode 55: Roll out the BIG barrels! A visit to Between the Lines Winery
    Oct 29 2026

Elaine B Peters and her husband Ralf Peters have worked at Between the Lines for years and are incredibly passionate about wine. We enjoyed a wonderful conversation about the winery, which opened in 2010 and is known for their Riesling and Lemburger grapes. When you visit, you will see amazing 1,000 litre Slovenian Oak barrels in the tasting room, and you'll hear about the effect the larger barrels have on the taste of the wine. Speaking of taste – if you've ever wondered about food pairings with wine, this is the podcast for you! Elaine and Ralf have fantastic recommendations and you'll probably be hungry by the time you finish listening. They also share the joys of working in a small winery. You'll definitely be intrigued to try the Riesling, which Elaine describes as the windshield wiper of the tongue. (yes, another t-shirt idea!)

  • Spill the Wine Episode 53: From Chemical Engineer to Winemaker. A visit to Divergence
    Oct 1 2026

Divergence signifies a change in life direction and Winemaker Jeff Moote definitely personifies that. He left a 10-year career as a chemical engineer and delved into the world of winemaking, taking classes at Brock University and then launching his own label in 2020. Not having his own vineyards gives Jeff the ability to search out grapes from a variety of growers from Lincoln Lakeshore to Niagara on the Lake. We discuss the choices of vineyards, the art of making sparkling wine and taste some fabulous wines. Once again, I had the opportunity to try a wine I had never had before – MRV. It is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier and it was a truly amazing experience. The tropical notes on this wine are fabulous!! Do something different on your next wine tour and discover the beauty of small wine makers – you'll be glad you did.
