Book event tea has been piping hot and the season has barely begun! We've decided bookish events will be on a PIP (performance improvement plan) starting today! We'll reevaluate at the end of the quarter, but let's start with a few points to address:

1. Start small - if you aren't familiar with events, don't go crazy!
2. Communication is key - send emails fam...not everyone will catch your IG stories
3. Protect your people - far too many incidences of SA or harassment have been occurring lately that is UNACCEPTABLE and it is your job to hire security and have strict rules/policies
4. Welcome everyone - don't be ableist! Make sure your venues are ADA compliant

Listen, we all want to have a good time at these events, so don't do stupid stuff, okay? The last thing we want is for these events to go away because no one trusts the organizers anymore. We can have a good time without ruining other people's good times.

Do better!!!!

What is a parasocial relationship? It's when you think that content creator you follow is somehow your bestie. Or it's that person you follow, that you end up memorizing their life story. How did we even get here? Why did we get here? Is there any good to this phenomenon? How do we stop it from getting worse?

Don't have FOMO...let's talk about it!

(And we only squirrel a little bit...I promise)

Is AI really inevitable, or is it just a tech bro's wet dream gone awry? I think the headlines recently answer that question, but allow us to yap your ears off about what we think. Newsflash: we hate it.

While this episode was recorded a few months ago, with the recent AI news, it couldn't be any more valid now than it was then. Buckle up for a lot of F-bombs, because we have feelings about AI!

Also, there might be some spoilers near the end for ACOTAR and Fourth Wing, so listen at your own risk!
