  • The Old Crowd
    Oct 13 2026

In this episode, Robin reflects on the special friendships that stand the test of time and the simple joy of getting together with people who have been part of your life for so many years. A summer visit with old friends brought plenty of conversation, laughter, and a reminder of just how special it is to pick up right where you left off.

Robin also takes us back to her school days at Crawford Elementary, when the walk to school was an adventure all its own. Every now and then, a dime in a pay phone’s change slot felt like winning the lottery! Of course, there were less pleasant surprises, too, like dodging crab apples and surprise snowballs thrown by mischievous boys, there was never a dull moment on the way to school!

It’s funny how a song, a familiar face, or a simple conversation can bring so many memories to mind. And sometimes, the best part is getting to share those memories with someone who was there, too.

So settle in and join Robin for a little visit filled with friendship, laughter, and stories from the heart.

  • Grandma's Feather Bed
    Oct 6 2026

In this episode of Notes with Rockin Robin, Robin takes a walk through some of her favorite memories of grandparents and childhood, inspired by John Denver’s “Grandma’s Feather Bed.”

She remembers time spent on her grandparents’ farm collecting eggs, snapping beans on the porch, playing with clothespin dolls, sorting through a button box, and sleeping on feather pillows that seemed determined to shed a few feathers. She also shares stories about her grandmother’s adventures from thrift stores, fire sales, long drives to Kansas, and a cabin in the Colorado foothills.

This episode is about those seemingly ordinary details from childhood that stick with us: the things we touched, smelled, heard, played with, and carried with us through the years. The memories that may not have seemed especially important at the time, but somehow still leave a warm feeling when we think about them today.

Settle in for a few stories about grandparents and the little things that stay with us. There are funny memories, unexpected moments, and a few things that turn out to be pretty peachy along the way.

Keep listening, keep reminiscing, and keep making memories. ❤️

  • Oh, You Beautiful Doll
    Sep 29 2026

In this episode, Robin shares some sentimental memories surrounding her lifelong love of dolls; from childhood trading adventures to backyard pioneer play and the unforgettable times her dolls were buried in the backyard as part of an “authentic” prairie adventure!

She also tells the story of how a sixth-grade science project helped her get the baby doll she had been told she was “too old” to have.

This episode isn’t just for the girls! Robin invites the boys to think back to their own childhood favorites (maybe a G.I. Joe, a Ken doll, or being forced to play along with a sister’s Barbie).

With a little humor, a few surprises, and memories that stayed with her through the years. Robin reflects on why those childhood toys meant so much and the lessons she learned along the way.

Who knows? Maybe it will remind you of a special toy or childhood memory of your own. 💕
