In this episode of Notes with Rockin Robin, Robin takes a walk through some of her favorite memories of grandparents and childhood, inspired by John Denver’s “Grandma’s Feather Bed.”
She remembers time spent on her grandparents’ farm collecting eggs, snapping beans on the porch, playing with clothespin dolls, sorting through a button box, and sleeping on feather pillows that seemed determined to shed a few feathers. She also shares stories about her grandmother’s adventures from thrift stores, fire sales, long drives to Kansas, and a cabin in the Colorado foothills.
This episode is about those seemingly ordinary details from childhood that stick with us: the things we touched, smelled, heard, played with, and carried with us through the years. The memories that may not have seemed especially important at the time, but somehow still leave a warm feeling when we think about them today.
Settle in for a few stories about grandparents and the little things that stay with us. There are funny memories, unexpected moments, and a few things that turn out to be pretty peachy along the way.
Keep listening, keep reminiscing, and keep making memories. ❤️
