  • Episode 10: Atri Banerjee - Theatre Director

    In this week's episode we welcome Atri Banerjee to the podcast. Atri is a theatre director who won The Stage Debut Award for their direction of Hobson's Choice at the Royal Exchange Manchester in 2019. Since studying the MFA Directing course at Birkbeck they have worked on shows such as Jubilee at the Lyric Hammersmith, West Side Story and Happy Days at the Royal Exchange and The Son at the Kiln Theatre. 

    We chat about assistant directing, artistic inspirations and what it's like to direct revivals of classical works.

  • Episode 9: Kwami Odoom - Actor, Theatremaker and Writer

    This week we chat to actor, theatremaker and writer Kwami Odoom. Kwami trained with the National Youth Theatre's REP company in 2016, before going on to star in The Barbershop Chronicles, Half God of Rainfall, and BOYS. He is also a founding member of phyiscal theatre company The PappyShow.

The pair both met on the National Theatre's Young Technicians course.

    In this episode we chat about what exactly dramaturgy is, tips for writers submitting their plays, queer representation in the industry, and a bit about musicals!
