In part 3 of "The Real Jesus," we look at some of the secret teachings of Jesus. In the beginning of His ministry, Jesus spoke openly and plainly to everyone – like His Sermon on the Mount – but, later in His ministry, Jesus began to speak in parables. Parables are meant to both reveal and conceal. They reveal truth to the people of God, and conceal that truth from those who aren't. What are some of the secrets of the Kingdom of God that Jesus reveals in His parables?!

As Scripture tells us, Jesus voluntarily limited His divinity and confined Himself to His Human flesh. One exception was when Jesus performed miracles. In this episode, we look at some of the miracles Jesus performed while He was on earth. What was the miracle? What was it's purpose? What was the symbolism of it? There's only one real Jesus, but there sure are a lot of fake replicas! The difference in whether you have a rock-solid foundation or a foundation built on sand is whether your hope and faith is built on the real Jesus or an some imitation of Jesus. For both our life here on earth and for the day when either Jesus comes back or we face Him after our death, we need to make sure that we’re standing on the solid rock of Jesus – the real Jesus. Most of us have probably heard Carrie Underwood's #1 hit, "Jesus Take the Wheel," but as catchy as the song is, it elicits a question - Do we need to tell Jesus to take the wheel or is He already firmly planted in the driver's seat of our life whether we invite Him to be there or not? ? Is God in control of the lives of everyone and everything? And if He is, does that make us just robots? In this episode and the next, we do a deep dive into a foundational Truth that causes some to go apoplectic - God's Sovereignty. There is some mystery to how it all works, but it is extremely important to understand what the Bible teaches, and what it doesn’t because when we try to make our understanding of God fit into our finite minds, it usually leaves us with a God of our own making, and ultimately leads to a life lived on shaky ground, instead of a firm foundation.

The quest to answer the question, “What is my purpose - why am I here, and what am I supposed to do with my life” has throughout history, been the universal question of people. This question is getting asked more and more as chaos ensues in the world. Doctors have even come up with a term for people struggling with this. It's called, Purpose Anxiety.” People are wired with a gnawing sense that their life should have an overarching purpose, but apart from God, it's impossible to know how to discover it. Have you ever thought about that not only is your purpose to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, but also to someday be glorified!

In English, we use exclamation points to emphasize a point or convey urgency. In Hebrew they use repetition. Several times in Scripture a word or phrase is repeated to indicate it's importance; but only once is a word used three times - and that's to tell us God is Holy, Holy, Holy. God's holiness is not just one of His attributes, it's Who He is! His holiness effects every single characteristic of Him. What does understanding God's holiness mean for us and why is it so crucial to shore up a rock-solid foundation for our faith?

Many people have ignorantly walked through their life believing everything is going great and they have solid ground beneath them, only to suddenly have a gaping sinkhole of catastrophe or devastation open up underneath them. None of us know when the storms of life are going to come and pound against our foundation. That’s why it’s crucial that we have a solid foundation under us that can withstand those storms. If the foundation of our life isn’t built on the solid rock of the essential biblical Truths, it’s going to collapse at some point.
