It's a good day when Cillian Murphy is back on the pod! We're closing out the spookiest time of the year with 28 Days Later. Danny Boyle's horror classic redefined zombies for the new millennium and cemented itself in the hall of horror greats by doing so. Cillian Murphy stars as Jim, a man who wakes up from a coma only to find London ravaged by a zombie-like rage infection. 28 Days Later also stars Naomie Harris, Brendan Gleeson, Christopher Eccleston, and Megan Burns. Have a very happy Halloween, mates!

Our penultimate Shocktober is here and we're discussing the divisive Halloween Ends! Director David Gordon Green and star Jamie Lee Curtis return to cap off the modern Halloween trilogy with a final showdown between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers... with a totally different movie playing for 90 minutes beforehand. Shocktober continues once again! We started this podcast a year ago, and to celebrate, we're bringing it back to a classic slasher for the spookiest season of the year: A Nightmare on Elm Street. This film introduced the world to Freddy Krueger, rocketed Wes Craven to horror icon status, and proved that slashers can be deeper and freakier than masked men at summer camps. A Nightmare on Elm Street is one of our favorite horror movies ever and this time Dan is once again joined by Mimi for a movie almost as scary as Dear Evan Hansen.

It's Jess's birthday and she's celebrating it the only way she knows how, with The Nightmare Before Christmas! This Halloween (yes, Halloween not Christmas) classic follows Tumblr sexyman Jack Skellington as he becomes disillusioned with his current life and latches onto the first new thing he sees to make it his whole personality - something we can all relate to. The Nigthmare Before Christmas is a beautifully animated movie with one of Danny Elfman's best scores. Our final Spook-tember entry is one Avery's been looking forward to for a while: The Night House! Rebecca Hall stars as Beth, a woman who's tragically lost her husband recently when it becomes evident the house he built for the both of them may be housing a malicious entity. The Night House is helmed by David Bruckner (who will soon be directing Hellraiser on Hulu) and features creative scares, gorgeous visuals, and an electric leading performance from Rebecca Hall.
