Mimi Cooper is happy where she's at, recalling the past and reliving her memories. Cooper pushed through three decades moving from a folkie, to rock jammer in Boston, and back to Michigan as a blues rocker. She had a prominent spot to tour with Bob Seger, which fell through when the timing to raise her child came first. She did eventually cut backing tracks on The Fire Inside album, but she maintained as career opening or performing with the likes of Johnny Winter, Koko Taylor, The Chisel Brothers, , Mudpuppy, Hubert Sumlin, Mitch Ryder and Albert Collins, among others.

Having released her album Paradise in the '90s with The Snakes, she found healing others as a prominent force in her world with music, her hands, and even garnishing ukulele chops and helping 'people where they are at.' Her road took her from Grand Rapids, to Boston, to California, Detroit and she currently resides in Muskegon. Mimi knows healing, blues, and has a deep connection to so many artists. Rich Tupica cut his teeth on all styles of Michigan music. When his heart headed into journalism, Rich took courses in Mid-Michigan at Delta College, eventually landing at the Lansing City Pulse. Becoming a music archeologist, heading into old headlines at the library, backed with Microfiche browsing, Tupica began collecting. Eventually writing the most detailed Big Star biography on the late Chris Bell, Tupica wasted no time getting into other projects and became a go-to person for background information on Michigan rock.

From producing the Nolan Strong and the Diablos tribute album 'Daddy Rockin' Strong' and side jobs as a PR agent to former other 'big' stars, Tupica is in a class of his own. Now living in California, his Bob Seger collection and detailed memories of Michigan music history is unlike anyone else's. We were grateful to have him stop at his old stomping grounds in the Tri-Cities on a trip home to visit from California in fall of 2025.
