My guest today is the talented and visionary owner and director of Muse Studio Collective, Elona Commerell. A lifelong lover of all things creative, Elona’s passion for makeup began at a young age and quickly blossomed into an impressive career.
Her journey started with her work being featured in editorials, fashion weeks, and advertisements. In 2016, driven by her passion for education, Elona began offering personal and group makeup classes to help other artists in the industry refine their skills.
Today, Elona’s artistry is in high demand, with her work gracing sets and beauty campaigns for some of Australia’s most renowned fashion labels, photographers, models, designers, and influencers. 2025 Elona will take her expertise global, traveling internationally to teach masterclasses and create unforgettable bridal looks.

Today, I am thrilled to welcome an incredibly inspiring guest to the podcast. Sharon Wilkes-Burt. Sharon began her career as a hairdresser back in 1987 and qualified as a makeup artist in 2002. From launching a successful bridal business to teaching aspiring artists, she has worn so many hats in the beauty industry, all while raising a young family.
Her journey has taken her across the globe, from the UK to Australia, where she has made a massive impact in both the education and bridal sectors. She founded the TG Hairstyling Academy, which later became Gloss Hair Academy, offering masterclasses, salon training, online education, and business mentoring programs designed to elevate the careers of beauty professionals.
Now, after an incredible career spanning decades, she’s embarking on an exciting new chapter as a life coach, helping midlife women navigate life’s transitions with confidence and clarity.

My guest today is the multi-award-winning hair and makeup artist, Pearlin McCarthy. Born and raised in Perth with a Singaporean/Christmas Island background, Pearlin has over 20 years of experience in the makeup industry and 15+ years in hair.

Pearlin’s scope of artistry not only covers bridal and special events but she also specialises in creative makeup, This creativity also stems from her degree in Bachelor in Design when she graduated from Curtin University in 2002.

Pearlin is renowned for mastery of the Hollywood Waves technique, earning her the title "Wave Queen" of Perth and has conducted annual sold-out masterclasses.

Having entered numerous national makeup competitions, Pearlin likes to place herself out of her comfort zone in order to level up. Her competitive spirit has garnered numerous awards, including first place in various categories at Perth's Hair and Makeup Awards and the Australian Makeup Industry Awards. Recently, she won the Bridal Stylist 2024 title at the Hair Festival in Sydney. Pearlin's exceptional skills and versatility make her highly sought after in Perth, often booking out well in advance.

The gorgeous Holly Mudge discovered her passion for makeup in 2013 and has since made Perth her home for the last 15 years. Holly's love for bridal makeup comes from her own experience as a bride, and she strives to make things as easy as possible for her brides. Inspired by her children, Poppy and Billy, she pursued her dream in the fashion and editorial world, leading to the opening of BAYSE Collective, Perth’s premier makeup studio. This space supports the creative freedom of other hair and makeup artists. Holly's work has been featured in publications such as STM Perth, Yoko, Seamingless, and Vulkan magazines, and she was a finalist for the AHFA Makeup Artist of the Year in 2017.
