    Nov 5 2026
Welcome to Ladies Talkin' Leafs! The Leafs roller coaster is most definitely back, and in this episode we're breaking down the Maple Leafs' first month with insider Mike Augello! In our Third Period segment we discuss the team's critical goaltending situation, including Bobrovsky's struggles and Anthony Stolarz's role, plus Hiller's in-game management (or lack there of) as well as the brilliant play of Auston Matthews versus William Nylander's 'invisible' game. We also get Mike's take on the Nikita Kucherov trade bombshell and share fan reactions to the new Hometown Remix jerseys. Syl and Mike discuss specific games like the unexpected win against the Oilers, the losses to Calgary and Seattle, and the uninspired win over Vancouver, highlighting how every point matters in the tight Eastern Conference. • Maple Leafs Early Struggles: Can Young Stars Turn It Around?
    Oct 21 2026

Leafs Nation, it's been a bit of a rough start for the Toronto Maple Leafs, but we're not ready to hit the panic button just yet! Welcome back to Ladies Talkin' Leafs with Syl and Jay. This episode, we're asking the big question: can the young stars turn this Maple Leafs season around?

We start with the honest stuff in "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." The Good: the young players stepping up when the Leafs need a spark. The Bad: the losses, defensive breakdowns, and inconsistent goaltending that keep costing the team leads. The Ugly: the lack of structure on the ice (Jayden has a lot to say about this one), and whether Coach Jim Hiller can make the necessary adjustments.

Now for the fun part: "The Ladies Talkin' Leafs Highlight Reel." We're talking about the moments that had us out of our seats. Three of the prettiest goals made the cut, with our rookie, our newcomer, and our Captain all getting on the board. Do you agree with our rankings? Let us know what other plays could've made the cut.

Why you'll want to hit play:

    • Can the young stars spark a Maple Leafs turnaround?
    • Why the Toronto Maple Leafs keep struggling to hold leads.
    • How a stronger defensive core could change the season.
    • What the early standings mean and why the time to adjust is now.

Do you think the kids can help save the season? Do we need even more of a youth infusion? Tell us in the comments, DM us, and share this episode with your favourite Leafs fan. To good times ahead–Go Leafs Go! 💙

  • And So It Begins: First Impressions of the New-Look Leafs
    Sep 23 2026

And so it begins... This week we are kicking off a new season of the show — and we're starting it as a family affair. Chris is on LTIR, so with our leftover cap space we called up Syl's son, Jayden Wastle, to the show, and we kick things off talking about how being a Leafs fan became a family tradition passed down to him (for better or worse).

Then we get into the biggest offseason this franchise has had in years. In The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Jayden and I hand out our own report card on the Leafs whirlwind first summer — Chayka's swift action, early front runners for best signings of the summer, and a curious buck at tradition.

We wrap with a Third Period segment where we share our early pre-season impressions: our first look at McKenna and Auston Matthews, why Nick Paul's energy is already infectious, the line combinations we're seeing take shape under new coach Jim Hiller, and our (probably too early) predictions for award winners, breakout players, and where this retooled roster is headed.

If your love for the Leafs was passed down to you too, we think you'll feel right at home in this one. Thanks to Jayden for filling in for Chris, who's recuperating and cheering from the sidelines. Go Leafs Go!

    In this episode:

    • The family roots of our Leafs fandom
    • Our report card on the Leafs offseason moves
    • First impressions of McKenna & Matthews
    • Nick Paul brings the passion
    • Early line combos and coaching decisions
    • Our award predictions and breakout picks
    • NHL news we're keeping an eye on

  • 8 Years of Ladies Talkin' Leafs: Have the Leafs Actually Changed?
    Sep 2 2026
It's been eight seasons since we hit record for the first time — and this show we're going full circle. We revisit our very first episode from 2019, dig into our own hockey origin stories (Uncle John, Mike Palmateer, and a certain Wendel Clark jersey all make an appearance), and unpack how much has actually changed for the Toronto Maple Leafs since the Kadri trade and the 2018-19 season. We trace the threads that still echo today: the Marner contract saga, the Marleau trade and the Seth Jarvis "what if," Babcock's final season, and the goaltending carousel that's followed this team for years. Then we take a look ahead: an 84-game season, a jam-packed December, the 100th anniversary of the Maple Leafs name, and a finale at MSG. Grab a coffee — this one's for the long-time listeners and the new fans alike. Subscribe for Toronto Maple Leafs breakdowns, trade talk, and season coverage. Go Leafs Go! • Is Rielly Actually Staying? Leafs Camp Preview ft. Arun Srinivasan
    Aug 13 2026
Training camp is almost here, and this Maple Leafs roster looks nothing like it did last spring (thank goodness!). We're breaking down everything you need to know before the puck drops on the 2026-27 season. We kick-off the show and get right into the fun stuff — projecting forward line combinations, defensive pairings, and which prospects and young players have a real shot at cracking the opening night roster. Then in this instalment of the Third Period we have a great conversation with guest Arun Srinivasan of The Leafs Nation on where this team really stands heading into the season. We dig into Sergei Bobrovsky's arrival between the pipes with Arun and discuss what he thinks the two-time Vezina winner and Stanley Cup champ brings to a Leafs crease that desperately needed stability. We also unpack the Darren Raddysh sign-and-trade and how it reshapes Toronto's blue line — plus the big question everyone's still asking: is Morgan Rielly actually staying in Toronto, or could a camp trade still happen? We also talk about Jim Hiller's potential coaching system and what a shift in style could mean for this group, plus the latest injury updates and cap/roster management questions facing GM John Chayka as he continues his offseason overhaul. Buds fans, this one's got everything — new faces, big questions, and a franchise trying to find its way back to contention. Let's get into it. A quick reminder before you go, we want to invite you to join the conversation and Leaf It To The Ladies! Leave us a message on Speakpipe and your question or comment could be featured on our next show! You'll find the link below! 🏒 Subscribe for Leafs breakdowns all season long. The Leafs management team has been very productive so far — and there's a lot to be excited about! • Brighter Days Ahead for the Leafs: NHL Draft Recap, the Carlo Trade and Farewell Cliff Fletcher
    Jun 30 2026
What a difference a few months makes! It was all doom and gloom when the Leafs played their last game of the 2025-26 season on April 15th. From top to bottom the future looked very bleak but then lucky #12 showed up on May 5th and after this past weekend the Leafs future looks a lot brighter! On this episode of Ladies Talkin' Leafs, we look at the franchise-altering buzz around drafting Gavin McKenna first overall, what it means for the Leafs' rebuild, and why this prospect class has us more excited than we've been in years! We go deep on the 2026 NHL Draft, the Leafs' scouting strategy, and what life is really like for incoming prospects facing sky-high expectations in a hockey-crazy market. We chat mentorship, leadership, and team culture with insight straight from the scouting world, plus a closer look at the defensemen, goalies, and international prospects who could be wearing the blue and white sooner than you think. We even cover the fun stuff — twins getting drafted together, global hockey growth — the stories that make draft weekend a little more interesting. Then we shift gears to talk trade: what the Brandon Carlo deal signals about Toronto's rebuild and roster direction heading into next season.
