    Petersfield Golf Club elects a new president this month and for the first time in it's 124 year history it is a woman. In the Sportlight chats to Lesley Eaton about this historic moment and asks how she sees her new role and what she hopes to achieve.     In the Sportlight welcomes back it's knight of the oval coffee table, yes Isaac's back to share his customary wisdom and wit. In this episode Petersfield Rugby club begin their campaign for promotion to Regional Division 1 but have the toughest of tasks as they face Winchester in the first round of the knockout stages. https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ . With football still mainly dominating the sporting scene just now, Petersfield the men's rams side wrap up their season with 3 games in a week culminating in a home showdown with East Cowes Victoria. Can they sign off a difficult season on a high? And the women's rams are beginning their final run towards league glory. With most of their tough away games played, Liss Athletic have a casual run in towards the end of their season campaign.     The rugby season fixture list couldn't have been planned any better than to leave 5th placed Tottonians facing in their last match 6th placed Petersfield. In football, Petersfield the men's rams side continue to learn at an exponential rate what it takes to survive in this league. For Liphook football, both men's and women's sides are in action but their seasons couldn't have been more different. Liss Athletic continue their search for points and with the league being as tight as it is, a good run could see them in the top third at the end of the season.     For the first time, In the Sportlight travels to Liphook Football Club. And it's fortuitous that it's a monster game because the Liphook Ladies can become Hampshire County Division 2 league champions with a win. Their opposition is the Wight Eagles but Liphook have a secret ace up their sleeve......Blue the mascot dog. The champagne is on hold and just one more terrific performance and the title is theirs. https://www.liphookunitedfootballclub.org/ . For the Liphook men's side, not such a happy time as they find themselves in a dogfight to remain in their league. The weekend has them travel to Broughton. More drama for Petersfield the Rams as their coach decides to leave the club but meanwhile, a heavy schedule of games must be played. 2 home league games in the week first against Bemerton Heath on Tuesday and then the Saturday Hamble football club are welcomed.. https://www.petersfieldtownfc.co.uk/ . It is the final match for Petersfield table tennis A side in the Haslemere league.     This week in men's football, it's the big local derby as Liss welcome Liphook in a much anticipated tie. Liphook are in a relegation battle desperate for points and Liss need to keep their return to form on track as they head to final run of the season.     The season campaigns for our Petersphere teams enter their final stretch now and Petersfield rugby club are still in the hunt for 5th place in the Regional South central 2 league which would earn them a promotional playoff spot. In football, Petersfield The Rams mens side have finally started picking up points since the earthquake shock of management departure in January.     With just 4 games of the season to go, Petersfield rugby club are hot on the heels of the Old Tottonians for a finishing position of 5th in the league. In so doing, they would find themselves in the play-offs for promotion. But standing in their way are the Old Tiffinians this weekend a team that has truly shown their mettle in this league campaign and beat Petersfield convincingly back in November. https://www.petersfieldrfc.club/ .
