  • Sabrina River Folk Podcast Episode 13 - Sarah Chave and the wisdom of the River Severn/Hafren.
    Dec 8 2025

Oasis frontman, Noel Gallagher was travelling to his recording studio in Wales when his train got stuck in the Severn Railway Tunnel for four hours. Inspiration came to him, and he wrote the lyrics to their hit song Acquiesce whilst actually under the River Severn. The song speaks of needing each other, believing in each other and uncovering what is sleeping in our soul, almost like he was hearing the voice of Sabrina/Hafren herself.

Author Sarah Chave believes we all know this, something deep within us remembers we are all part of the natural world. In her book, Hafren, The Wisdom of the River Severn, she goes on a journey of discovery and invites us to join her.

  • Sabrina River Folk Podcast Episode 7 - Artist Sarah Dixon on why Sabrina belongs among her 100 Goddesses
    Apr 4 2025

In this episode, artist Sarah Dixon of Stroud talks with me about her fascinating journey through life, her career and finding a way to bring her art to the forefront of her life. She explains how art led to her finding Goddess and birthed a project called 100 Goddesses, based on her training in the Cypriote tradition of icon painting. This includes Sabrina, Goddess of the River Severn, where she embraced the wild beauty of the Severn landscape. Having lived in many beautiful places around the world, Sarah recognised the rawness of the Sabrina, still probably one of the most untamed environments in the South West and how this can lead to discovering our own inner resources for wellness. Each Goddess in the project helped Sarah connect with their archetype but Sabrina remained one of her favourites!
