    Reaction Pod Crew - assemble!
We get back into the DeLorean and return to the present day, stopping only to pick up Mr Joe Banks on the way, so that we give our hottest of hot-takes on “Psychedelic Selection”: the new release from the mighty Hawks!

You will join us after we’ve played the album only a couple of times and done some rapid note-taking on Friday morning, and I’m sure thoughts around these tracks will be evolving as we keep playing this one in the coming days. This is a pod we will no doubt revisit when we come to deep-dive “Psychedelic Selection” at the end of the canon studio album run. But don’t hold your breath, that’s a little way off yet 😃

    While you’re here, there’s a new t-shirt for season 4…

  • Ep 31: Spacebrock
    May 15 2026

A new season, a new decade, a new millenium - yes, Y2K is here, and Hawkbinge returns to deep-dive into Spacebrock - one of those odd ones that might be a canon Hawkwind studio album, and might not. However, Wikipedia says it is, and so here we are.

Not an familiar album to Andy, let alone Matt, so join us on a journey to remember...

2000 turned out to be a year of massive album releases, so we take a look at the musical world into which this piece of Hawkwind was launched, chat about the other records we've been spinning in between plays of Spacebrock, check out the artwork (!!!) and generally get season 4 of Hawkbinge up and running.

  • Ep 30: End of Season Special - The 90's
    Mar 20 2026

    GOODBYE SEASON THREE!

Our time in the 1990’s comes to an end, and we wrap up the decade in the company for the one-and-only Mr Ian Abrahams, esteemed author of “Hawkwind: Sonic Assassins”, which has been such a huge resource for us on our Hawkbinge journey. We have a fun, sprawling chat about all things Hawkwind in the 90’s and each select our favourite ‘orphan tracks’ from the decade: those songs (or versions of songs) that didn’t make it onto a studio album.

We then get deep in the most excellent things Ian has been up to since last we spoke, including his writing for the Hawkwind edition of Record Collector last year, and his help with the marvellous book by Marion Lloyd-Langton about Huw’s life, and her life with him. We heartily recommend seeking that one out.

We also unveiled the lucky winner of the competition set on the last episode, and if that’s you then expect to hear from us very soon! Many thanks to Ian, always great to chat Hawkwind with him :)
