  • Life After Binge with Colleen Clifford
    Oct 11 2026

**Content Warning:** This episode includes explicit discussions of alcohol abuse, binge drinking, and suicide. Listener discretion is advised, especially for those who may find these topics distressing.

In this heartfelt episode of the Good Grief Believer podcast, host Julie Craig welcomes Colleen Clifford, commercial fisherwoman, author, and former binge drinker, to discuss grief, alcohol misuse, shame, and the journey toward healing. Colleen's book, Life Beyond the Binge: A Commercial Fisherwoman's Journey Home, shares lessons from a life shaped by difficult experiences, profound loss, and the courage to begin again.

After losing her husband, Scott, to alcohol-related suicide, Colleen had to navigate a complicated grieving process while also examining her own relationship with alcohol. Through honest reflection, she discovered how unresolved shame had influenced many of her choices and how binge drinking had become a way to cope with pain she had carried for decades.

  • From Grief to Gratitude with Steven Ferrara
    Sep 13 2026

In this tender episode of the Good Grief Believer podcast, host Julie Craig welcomes Steven Ferrara, author of Grief to Gratitude, for an honest conversation about losing the people he loved most and discovering a new way to understand grief, loss, faith, and life after death.

Steven shares the heartbreaking story of his son Christopher, who died suddenly in a car accident at just 23 years old. His unexpected death shattered Steven and his family and began a long journey through grief after losing a child. Rather than hiding from the pain, Steven learned to express his emotions through running, crying, screaming, journaling, and talking with people he trusted.

  • The 3 R's of Caring for People Who Grieve with Kelly Edmondson
    Jul 19 2026

What happens when the person who spent 25 years helping families through medical crises suddenly finds herself walking through the unimaginable?

In this episode of Good Grief Believer, Julie Craig welcomes Kelly Edmondson, trauma ICU nurse, nurse executive, certified grief counselor, and founder of Timely Presence.

Kelly shares the devastating story of losing her 28-year-old son, Darius, unexpectedly to a seizure while she and her husband were away. Although she had spent decades caring for grieving families, nothing could prepare her for becoming a grieving mother herself.

Together, Julie and Kelly explore the difference between shock and grief, why grief often begins long after everyone else has returned to normal life, and how the silence that follows loss can be one of the hardest parts of the journey.
