  • Episode 36 - With Carolyn Harris MP
    Dec 16 2025

After more weeks off than they had planned for, Jack and Ant are back - and they are joined by Carolyn Harris, the MP for Neath and Swansea East. An MP since 2015, Carolyn is again championing the "Everyone Deserves A Christmas" campaign that she helped initiate. The charity provides food hampers filled with festive essentials to struggling families and individuals, ensuring they experience the joy of Christmas.

Carolyn talked with the boys about how the campaign has grown from a small kitchen effort to around 1,600 hampers being distributed this Christmas across areas such as Swansea, Neath, and Merthyr Tydfil.

As well as the campaign, Carolyn gave some insight into life as an MP, told how she accidentally disrupted the Prime Minister's official tree lights switch on, discussed whether she would stand at the next General Election, and put herself up for a Strictly Come Dancing appearance.

You won't find anything in this one about fiscal policy, neither will you hear any rubbishing of political rivals - but you may just enjoy hearing how a Swansea woman operates at the heart of the UK Government.

  • Episode 35 - The one with no guest!
    Nov 26 2025

Well it was bound to happen... the scheduled guest dropped out at the last minute and so it was left for Jack and Ant to either have a chat for half an hour or to leave it for a week.

Given Jack's away at Cardiff School of Journalism and Ant was going to be ringing him for a catch up anyway, they decided to just record it and pop it out as this week's podcast.

Amongst the topics covered were Christmas curry nights, meeting Dr Who(s), global excitement that Ant had gone out and had a pint, and Jack's venture into Cardiff's five-a-side scene.

This one may not be for everyone - and no grudges are held if it's not - but, likewise, it may help you through a short car journey on these dark November days!

  • Episode 34 - Dan Brooks... The Canadian Adventure!
    Nov 6 2025

Dan Brooks was a criminal solicitor in Swansea and a (half) decent player for Mumbles RFC. But, in 2024, he packed both in, filled a suitcase with clothes and other bits, and set off to Canada to fulfil an ambition of experiencing a different lifestyle.

Landing in Canada he had no plan, no accommodation and no job - so it was clear he needed to get a few things sorted... and quickly!

During the 12 months that have followed he has flipped eggs for hungry fast food diners, captured and castrated young bulls, and undertaken a baby-sitting role with difference!

In this episode, Dan (the voice of our podcast intro) chatted to Jack and Ant about the highs and lows of life across the Atlantic - and he offered a little advice to anyone brave enough to up sticks and do something similar!

  • Episode 33 - Mike Lewis... He bought the Swans for a quid!
    Oct 15 2025

In March 1998, Mike Lewis joined Swansea City as commercial director. In his time at the club he oversaw a dramatic increase in commercial income, introduced Cyril The Swans, and paid a pound to buy the club from Neil McClure. But Mike's was not a happy time at the the helm - the money was running out fast, he was physically attacked at the ground by club supporters who wanted him out and he sold the club on... to Tony Petty.

From there it was on to Exeter City - where he was arrested and then faced court proceedings that ended with community service, while the chairman went to prison.

By his own assessment, Mike is a football nomad. He started his football career at his beloved Newport County, hit the heights at Spurs (where he negotiated their first shirt sponsorship with Holsten), worked at Reading and then Fulham under Mohamed Al-Fayed.

In his first full - and open - interview since the court case, Mike sat down with Jack and Ant to look back at the highs, lows and regrets of his life in football boardrooms.

  • Episode 32: Steff Burn... Making music from experiences!
    Oct 1 2025

Steff Burn is no ordinary singer/songwriter! Aged two he underwent several hours of surgery to rebuild his skull - and the scars that the operation left brought many an unkind comment during his school years.

Neurodiverse and diagnosed with ADHD, the Swansea student has battled his way through the local music scene to become a regular and respected member of the local gig circuit. His talents (and bare-faced cheek) prompted Libertines' frontman Pete Doherty to invite Steff to open for him and Steff was back on the Bunkhouse bill recently with other city bands The Stray Pursuit, Freefall and ZATNM.

Steff's lyrics come from his own experiences - they are sometimes gritty, raw and about topics unlikely to find their way onto pop radio playlists. But that's not what Steff Burn is looking for. It's not what he's about. He won't trade his authenticity for passing popularity.

In a podcast that was a lot of fun to record, Steff tells Jack and Ant all about his first guitar, how his personality changes when he steps out on stage, his relationship with his mother, and of his EP hopes for the future.

It's all here - well almost! What happened in Margate - unfortunately - stays in Margate!

Content warning: This episode contains several swear words, as well as reference to adult themes that include suicide. It may not be for everyone.

  • Episode 31 - Paul Morgan... Take me to the Vetch Field!
    Sep 10 2025

In 1979, Swans fan Roger Evans asked his fellow North Banker to have a listen to a song he had penned about their favourite football team. Professional musician Paul Morgan was that fan - and he instantly loved the rousing musical story that became The Swansea City Song. With Paul on guitar, Roger on lyrics and the Swansea players adding their voices, the single - which included the Ballad of Swansea Jack on its B side - was soon high in the local charts and was regularly performed pre-match at the Vetch.

In this podcast episode season ticket holder Paul chatted with Jack and Ant about his musical background, his friendship with Roger, the song, Elton John's request for them to compose for Watford, their attempts to take their music to the US, the feelings he gets each time he hears it played... and the unreleased Roger Evans music that remains locked deep in a vault.

And, after all that, there was still time for Paul - a former Olchfa pupil - to make a bold - and positive prediction - about the return to the top flight for his beloved Swans!

  • Episode 30 - Ryan Pridmore... Not just a (top) podcaster!
    Aug 27 2025

He's known by many as half of the Ambition Is Critical team, but there's so much more to Ryan Pridmore than his successful podcast with Paddy Cullen. That said, the podcast recently passed 260 episodes and half a million downloads - showing just how far some opinions, some life experiences and great Swansea wit can take you!

Supportive of our podcast from the outset, Ryan - who describes himself as "a proper townie" - joined Jack and Ant to talk about AIC, and also to discuss other aspects of his life. These included the importance of friends, of working hard to provide, the different jobs he had and the pressures they have brought, his love of wearing decent clobber, and the joys and disappointments that his beloved Swansea City have given him.

Throw into the mix how he met Paddy Cullen, his first holiday in Magaluf, and teaching his son to drive and it was no surprise that this turned into one of our longest podcasts yet!

We hope you love it as much as we enjoyed recording it!

    Aug 13 2025

As well as knowing the cocktail list off by heart, the man behind the bar is self-taught on the turntables - and harbours ambitions of taking his skills just a few yards along Mumbles Road to play a set at the city's arena.

His next challenge comes at the Marina watering hole on 20 August 2025 - a 10-hour charity set that will benefit mental health charity MIND... a massive step up from his previous sets and one that involves a number of logistical challenges.
