Welcome to the wild world of the Free Form Rock Podcast, where we embrace every riff, solo, and scandalous hairdo from the glorious era of rock! If you’re a purist, a metal elitist who believes that any sound that isn’t an 8-minute guitar solo is akin to sacrilege, then this is your warning: you might want to turn down the volume and stick to your ‘perfect’ playlist filled with only the heaviest and most obscure bands that your no-caffeine diet can handle.

Here, we celebrate everything from shaking your head to classic rock anthems to moshing like a maniac at a metal concert! We love all the forms of rock—classic, metal, and everything in between. So, if your idea of a good time is debating over which band had the best leather pants, you’re in for quite the ride!

Sit back, relax, and remember: we don’t take ourselves too seriously—because if we did, we’d be stuck in the ‘70s, arguing over whether Led Zeppelin was better than Black Sabbath while wearing questionable platform shoes. Join us as we rock out the way rock was meant to be—loud, unapologetic, and just a little ridiculous! Tune in, turn it up, and let’s jam through the delightful chaos of our favorite tunes together!Copyright 2016 All rights reserved ScifiMarc LLC.

  • Episode 558-Blackberry Smoke-Like an Arrow.
    Jun 12 2026

This week on America’s Podcast, we dive into Blackberry Smoke and their album Like an Arrow. Will this album have us “Running Through Time,” or will it make us want to take the next exit outta here faster than a gas station burrito emergency? No spoilers!

It’s just the Three Amigos this week — the brothers in podcasting themselves. No family members, no distractions, and probably fewer people yelling over each other… probably.

    Tracks of the Week
    • Jerry — Midnight Ride by Styx
    • Marc — Nights of Mystery by The Georgia Satellites
    • Mooger — Lost Prayer by Zakk Wylde

  • Episode 567-Social Distortion- Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell
    Jun 5 2026

This week on America’s podcast, we dive into a band that inspired a whole generation of punk, pop-punk, and “I swear I can still fit into my old leather jacket” bands — Social Distortion and their classic album Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell.

It’s just the Three Amigos on this episode — brothers in podcasting and brothers in surviving questionable music takes. No family members this week… so things might actually stay on track for once. Will this album send us straight to heaven, or will it be pure hell on the ears? No spoilers… but somebody may need emotional support hairspray by the end of the show.

    Tracks of the Week
    • Mooger — Star Star by Joan Jett (the The Rolling Stones cover)
    • Marc — All You Zombies by The Hooters
    • Jerry — Dancing with Myself by Billy Idol

Make sure to leave us a five-star review on Apple Podcasts, follow us on Podbean and Podchaser, and check out our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@freeformrockpodcast9076 So you don’t miss the After Shows, Jerry’s Takes, Mooger’s Minutia Minutes, Marc’s Quick Thoughts, live concert clips, and whatever other madness we decide to throw online.

  • Episode 556-Diamond Head-Lightning to the Nations
    May 29 2026

This Week on America’s Podcast, we crank up the volume and dive headfirst into Lightning to the Nations by Diamond Head — the album that helped inspire a generation of thrash metal bands to pick up guitars, grow their hair out, and scare the neighbors! But here’s the big question: Is it a true NWOBHM classic… or were the cover versions by other bands actually better? Uh oh… somebody hide the comment section!

To help settle the debate (or make it even more chaotic), we bring in family members Travis Perrotta and Andy Rodriguez. No spoilers, but let’s just say opinions fly around faster than a double bass drum beat after three energy drinks.

    Tracks of the Week
    • Andy — Electric Eye by Judas Priest
    • Travis — The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent by UFO
    • Jerry — Breadfan by Florence Black
    • Marc — Let Love Rule by Lenny Kravitz
    • Mooger — Nosferatu Madre by Clutch
