  • Grand Jury Failed Nolan Wells, Did Nikole Fail Her Own Child?
    Sep 24 2026

A grand jury that had no one to indict. A DA who released its findings in the dead of night. And a mother's question every Black parent knows too well.

In this episode of Fearless Politics, Dr. Avis breaks down the Mississippi grand jury's "no true bill" in the death of Nolan Wells, and why she says the district attorney's late-night, prerecorded announcement was a PR campaign, not an explanation of what happened.

Playing the DA's own words back clip by clip, Dr. Avis exposes what the 17-minute statement focused on, what it conveniently left out, and whose names it mentioned most. She digs into the toxicology report, the medical examiner's findings on drowning, and the new injuries documented in the family's independent review, and lays the case alongside the four-step pattern Ida B. Wells identified more than a century ago.

Then she turns to the backlash over Nikole Hannah-Jones's New York Magazine essay on her daughter's education, drawing on her own research on high-achieving Black girls in predominantly white schools and the choices she made for her own sons.

With her signature fearless commentary, Dr. Avis names the extra burden Black parents carry, and issues a challenge to all of us.

    In this episode:

    • Why the grand jury was set up to find nothing
    • What the DA said, and who she never mentioned
    • The toxicology and autopsy findings she glossed over
    • The "straw man" at the center of the DA's statement
    • Ida B. Wells's four steps, and how many were checked
    • Nikole Hannah-Jones and the essay that set off a firestorm
    • Brown v. Board of Education and the separate-and-unequal system that never ended
    • What the research says about Black girls in elite white spaces
    • How Dr. Avis chose schools for her own sons
    • One solution every community can start tomorrow

Sometimes the Black parent's burden is protecting our children's minds.
Sometimes the burden is protecting their bodies.
And sometimes the burden is demanding the truth when no one else will.

  • Using Blackness as a Shield | How Left-Wing Apologist Justify Racism by Feigning Blackness
    Sep 15 2026

They said she's always identified as Afro-Palestinian. Dr. Avis went looking for the receipts and came back with something else entirely.

Bios. A 2014 New York Times op-ed. A 2010 magazine profile. A 2011 interview where the commentator describes her own father in words that are hard to walk back. And a tweet The Young Turks were happy to quote — but never showed you in full.

After a week of excuse-making over the "monkey" comment aimed at Hakeem Jeffries, Dr. Avis breaks down the defense that got repeated on show after show, why repetition is a technique and not an accident, and what it means when people fluent in one injustice go silent on another.

You can agree with someone's policy and still refuse their racism. Those two things were never in conflict.

    In this episode:

    • A decade of bios, op-eds, and profiles — and what's missing from every one
    • "My father was not even my biological father," in her own words, in 2011
    • The tweet The Young Turks quoted, and the photograph they didn't show
    • Why repetition works, and who else has built a movement on it
    • The one 2025 appearance where the identity did come up, and why the timing matters
    • A familiar name who chose to double down, and the disappointment that came with it
    • Angie Nixon attacked by racists within her own ranks
    • Family, DNA, and what a summer in Italy taught one of her

  • Left Wing Racism | Rula Jebreal's Attack on Hakeem Jeffries Exposed
    Sep 8 2026

There is no pass for racism. Not on the right. Not on the left.

Last week, Dr. Avis gave Laura Loomer the smoke for her racist rant against accomplished Black women. This week, the smoke comes from a different direction — and she's not lowering the temperature just because the source claims to be an ally. When MS Now Commentator and Palestinian Journalist, Rula Jebreal called Hakeem Jeffries a "monkey" and a "boy," without any pushback from the Host of the show on which she appeared, she unwittingly exposed a long-standing reality of the racism that lives in leftist spaces.

Dr. Avis walks through what happened next — the apology tour, the explanations, the friends who stepped in to try to smooth things over — and explains why none of it sits right with her. Along the way, she surfaces a piece of her own history that makes one popular defense very hard to accept.

She sets that moment against a story from her own childhood, one that explains exactly why these particular words carry the weight they do — and why a certain phrase that precedes an insult tells you everything about the person saying it.

From there, she widens the lens to a problem she sees across the left: people who are fluent in one injustice and blind to another. She connects that pattern to the Nolan Wells case, to the left's silence around Angie Nixon's own racist attacks, and to a question she keeps coming back to — who is actually trustworthy when Black people are under attack from every direction.

With her signature fearless commentary, Dr. Avis makes the case that moral consistency isn't optional, and that allyship you have to make excuses for isn't allyship at all.

    In this episode:

    • Rula's Racist slurs — and the excuses that followed
    • A childhood lesson on "Uncle," "Aunt," and "boy"
    • The receipt that undercuts the "I didn't know" defense
    • Friendship, credibility, and where the line has to be drawn
    • The left's blind spot, from Nolan Wells to Angie Nixon
    • What Symone Sanders learned in the most progressive wing of the party
    • November, and how you should come prepared to fight back

When it comes to racism, nobody gets a pass.

Call it out. Every side. Every time.
