They said she's always identified as Afro-Palestinian. Dr. Avis went looking for the receipts and came back with something else entirely.

Bios. A 2014 New York Times op-ed. A 2010 magazine profile. A 2011 interview where the commentator describes her own father in words that are hard to walk back. And a tweet The Young Turks were happy to quote — but never showed you in full.

After a week of excuse-making over the "monkey" comment aimed at Hakeem Jeffries, Dr. Avis breaks down the defense that got repeated on show after show, why repetition is a technique and not an accident, and what it means when people fluent in one injustice go silent on another.

In this episode:

• A decade of bios, op-eds, and profiles — and what's missing from every one
• "My father was not even my biological father," in her own words, in 2011
• The tweet The Young Turks quoted, and the photograph they didn't show
• Why repetition works, and who else has built a movement on it
• The one 2025 appearance where the identity did come up, and why the timing matters
• A familiar name who chose to double down, and the disappointment that came with it
• Angie Nixon attacked by racists within her own ranks
• Family, DNA, and what a summer in Italy taught one of her
