  • F*CK! I'M 50 — The Wake Up!
    Sep 23 2026

F*CK! I’M 50 started with a pretty simple question: where the bloody hell did the last 20 years go?

One minute you’re working, raising kids and dealing with the everyday stuff. The next, you wake up and realise—fuck, I’m 50.

I’m Paul Burfitt. I’ve got a wonderful family, a beautiful wife and plenty to be grateful for. From the outside, things probably look pretty good. But life hasn’t been without a few hurdles—and this is a strange stage to find yourself in.

The kids hardly need us anymore. Our parents need us more than ever. And plenty of us are quietly wondering what the fuck is going on and what comes next.

So, in my own inimitable fashion, I decided to start a show.

This short first episode explains where F*CK! I’M 50 came from and invites you along for the ride as I share stories, talk to interesting people and see where this little experiment leads.

Subscribe and join the other three people already listening.

    This is F*CK! I’M 50.

  • My Dad's got Dementia
    Sep 25 2026

My Dad is in his late 70's and he has end stage dementia. It sucks the big one and it's terrible to watch. It's a tough gig as a son to watch and I think tougher still on my Bother, my Mum, the Grandkids and the rest of the family and friends.

Dad has taught me amazing things over my life. But I also think by far his biggest lesson for me has come over the past year or two when he really started to fade.

Watching Dad slowly slip away right in front of my eyes, I'd like to think he's proud of me and my brother stepping up to the plate on his behalf and getting on with life flat out.

    I love you Dad.

  • Angelo San Giorgio: Family, Business & Letting Go
    Sep 28 2026

Please note: This episode was originally published under the show's previous name, Fi50. The podcast is now CONDITIONS APPLY, hosted by Paul Burfitt. The original conversation has been preserved.

Angelo San Giorgio is a dad, husband, grandfather, boating and camping tragic, and a bloke who still somehow manages to dress like he’s 25.

I caught up with Ange at a café in Melbourne for a chat about family, business, following your passions and what happens as the generations around you start to change.

With a background in sales and marketing, Ange talks about turning something he loves into a business, the influence family has had on his life, and learning that sometimes giving people the space to go their own way can actually bring everyone closer when it matters.

We talk about being a son, becoming a dad and then a grandfather, the changing dynamics between generations, and some of the lessons that only really make sense once you’ve lived through them yourself.

Ange is a funny bloke with a great story spanning two countries, plenty of family history and a few different chapters along the way.

Grab a coffee and enjoy the chat.

  • Nancy D’Agostino: Finding Yourself After Putting Everyone Else First
    Sep 30 2026

Please note: This episode was originally published under the show's previous name, Fi50. The podcast is now CONDITIONS APPLY, hosted by Paul Burfitt. The original conversation has been preserved.

Nancy D’Agostino is a mum, wife, singing teacher, author, illustrator and performer. Yep, there’s a lot going on.

But behind everything Nancy has achieved is a story about family expectations, responsibility and what can happen when years of putting other people first leave you wondering where you went.

Nancy grew up working in her family’s furniture business and studied accounting because it was the secure path her parents wanted for her. Quietly, though, she kept pursuing the thing she truly loved: singing.

We talk about building a career as a singing teacher, raising a family and spending years helping care for ageing relatives. By the time Nancy reached 50, she had a beautiful family and a successful teaching career—but still felt that something was missing.

She had spent so long caring for everyone else that she felt she had lost part of herself.

Nancy shares how she finally drew a line, made room for her own ambitions and began turning decades of ideas into something lasting. That creative drive led to her children’s book series, Hullabaloo – The Funky Singing Monkey, along with her work as an author, illustrator and recording artist.

This is a conversation about following your own path, finding yourself again and refusing to reach the later years of life wondering what might have happened if you’d had a crack.

  • Luke Moulton: Creating a Life You Don’t Want to Escape
    Oct 9 2026

Luke Moulton has spent most of his working life building businesses—from web development and digital marketing to running his own SaaS company.

But after divorce, a difficult period with his mental health and plenty of hard-earned perspective, success looks different at 50.

In this episode, Luke and I talk about burnout, therapy, asking for help, male friendships and why money is no longer the only measure of a good life. We also get into exercise, sleep, AI, chasing shiny business ideas and knowing when you simply don’t have the bandwidth for something else.

At the centre of the conversation is a powerful idea: creating a life you don’t want to escape from.

This is an honest chat about men’s mental health, finding purpose after 50 and making more room for the people and experiences that genuinely matter.

    This is F*CK! I’M 50.

This episode includes discussion of depression, divorce and suicide.

  • Starting Over After Divorce: Sebastian Foti on Fatherhood, Career Change & Midlife
    Oct 21 2026

After more than 20 years of marriage, Sebastian Foti found himself navigating divorce, raising three teenage children and working out what the next part of life should look like as he headed towards 50.

In this episode of Fi50 — F*CK! I’M 50, Paul Burfitt sits down with his longtime mate on the waterfront in the Whitsundays, Queensland, for a candid conversation about starting over after divorce, fatherhood, friendship, career change and finding a better balance between work and life.

A mechanical engineer who has spent much of his career in mining, Sebastian talks openly about the end of his marriage, becoming a single parent, the importance of having people to talk to and why honest advice from good friends helped him through a difficult period.

They also talk about Sebastian’s decision to leave a demanding job filled with long hours and work travel for an even-time remote mining roster — giving him more genuine time with his children and more space for the things he enjoys.

Cars are a big part of that life. Sebastian discusses restoring and building classic Fords, his involvement with the local Whitsundays car community and the annual car show at Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach, as well as why working on cars has become both a passion and a useful escape from everyday stress.

The conversation moves through investing and financial regrets, parenting teenagers, being more present with family, redefining success in midlife, qigong meditation, salsa dancing and the value of deliberately doing things outside your comfort zone.

Most importantly, Sebastian comes back to one simple lesson from his own experience: if you’re struggling, talk to someone — and if you see someone else struggling, take the time to listen.

A genuine conversation about divorce, midlife change, fatherhood, work-life balance, friendship and discovering that starting again doesn’t mean starting from nothing.
