    Consciousness is the inner wakefulness of the mind which allows us to experience life. There are different levels of consciousness from the surface, active level to quieter, more silent levels. The deepest level of consciousness is pure consciousness. The technique of Transcendental Meditation allows us to experience pure consciousness easily and effortlessly.

  • How Transcendental Meditation Can Conquer Depression

    Transcendental Meditation decreases the factors which give rise to depression. It enhances coherence in brain functioning, reduces cortisol, the stress hormone, levels in the body and decreases insomnia. A study was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology which showed a reduction in trait anxiety, fear and worry as a result of practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique. A study in the Journal of Behavioral Medicine showed that the technique has both acute and long-term effects on significantly reducing cortisol levels in the body.
