In episode 15 we are talk to DJ SHORTY, whose career started with pirate radio on ForceFM, and DejaVuFM, before moving onto KaneFM, BBC6, 1Xtra, and ItchFM.
A versatile DJ, he’s known for his old-school, hip-hop style as well as underground through to more commercial, and he’s also comfortable bringing rap, R&B, funk and soul into his sets,.
He’s also collaborated with numerous live acts and bands over the years, and headlined sets at events including Glastonbury and the London Jazz Festival.
Currently he is one of the resident DJs at the world-famous Chip Shop in Brixton, he also serves as a lecturer at Pointblank Music School, teaching DJ skills as a degree module. Also, he delivers youth projects for organisations such as The Roundhouse Trust, Islington Council and the Young Urban Arts Foundation, among others.
