  • Debate 57 - Should We Ban Cell Phones in Schools?
    Oct 8 2026

    Text us your thoughts!

This month, we're tackling a topic that's sparking heated conversations in school board meetings, parent groups, and classrooms across the country: cell phones in schools. It's a topic with no shortage of opinions. Teachers and parents often bring up mental health concerns and the impact of screen time on academic performance. At the same time, phones could be learning tools, computers in our pockets.

Whether you love them or hate them in schools, we wanted to hear what students have to say! So we brought together a panel of three recent high school graduates to share their (possibly surprising) opinions on this topic. Listen in, as our panel of students explores the question:

  • Debate 56 - Should Math Teachers Become Admin?
    Sep 17 2026

    Text us your thoughts!

Today we debate with administrators! What do you consider the qualities of a good leader? What do you wish administrators thought about more? Or have you ever considered becoming an administrator? Maybe someone has encouraged you to take the leap or you’re considering it on your own. We’ve known very few administrators coming from math education. Why is that? And do math teachers make good administrators?

In this episode, we are joined by a pair of school leaders who started as math teachers and are now serving as administrators. We'll ask them about the transition, what they wish teachers understood about the job, and what they see as the biggest challenges facing schools today, as we explore the question: Do Math Teachers Make Good Administrators?
