In this episode, I discuss how as Christians we should realize that it is the responsibility of every believer to be discerning. And in a day and age of information overload, we have to be even more vigilant and careful in our discerning God’s truth as it pertains to the issues of the day.

The Colossian church was caught in a crosswind of cultures and influences and had started to doubt that Christ was truly enough to handle all of the concerns of their lives. As a result, they began to add beliefs and practices from these outside influences to the gospel of Christ they had first believed in.  It doesn't take much reflection to see that many believers today face the same challenges and are tempted to doubt whether Christ is truly enough. 
In this episode, Charles kicks off this series in Colossians talking about how the Colossian church was impacted by the gospel they had received.

Recall that the Colossian church was caught in a crosswind of cultures and influences and had started to doubt that Christ was truly enough to handle all of the concerns of their lives. As a result, they began to add beliefs and practices from these outside influences to the gospel of Christ they had first believed in. In today’s episode, we’ll be looking at Col 1:9-14, discussing the effect the gospel should have on a believer and how that manifests itself in his or her life.

In today’s episode, we’ll be looking at Col 1:15-20, where Paul begins to present his case for the pre-eminence and supremacy of Christ over and above anything else the Colossians could turn to.

In today’s episode, we’ll be looking at Col 1:21-29, where Paul makes Christ’s work of reconciliation on the cross personal for the Colossians…challenging them to remember what Christ saved them from and warning them to not give in to the surrounding pressures and influences.

In this episode, we move into the second chapter of Colossians where Paul wants to help the Colossians understand that as believers, their lives must be lived IN and WITH Christ.
