  • #9 - Deluxe; Same Album, New Receipt
    Oct 4 2026

Quantity? Quality? Extra Onions? No Mayo? How do you take your Deluxe? Because apparently, these days, ordering an album means getting the regular meal, waiting 30 minutes, and then the artist comes back to the table like, “You want 7 more songs with that?”This is Episode 9. For today’s show, we’re talking about the Deluxe Album—and the bigger question behind it: Does adding more music actually make an album better?A great deluxe can deepen an album, add another layer to the artist’s story, or give great songs that didn’t make the original cut a second life. But when does “deluxe” stop being an artistic decision and start feeling like a streaming strategy? We’re talking about the difference between adding value and adding volume. Are artists using deluxe editions to complete the album they originally wanted to make, or are they simply stretching an album out to generate more streams, attention, and chart success? We’ll look at some of the best—and most questionable—examples and debate what a deluxe album should actually be. Because more tracks don’t automatically mean more value.Sometimes the deluxe is exactly what the album needed. And sometimes…we were full the first time.

Catch you at the next one.

  • #8 - The First Week Economy
    Oct 4 2026

Bruh, I was outside! Big deal too! Shout to DJLadyShay. The Orlando DJ Summit (now known as the Respect The DJ Summit...shout to DJ JUNEBUHG!!!) was in Orlando over the weekend. DJs not just from Florida, but North Carolina, Texas, and New York were all in the building. Lifetime Achievement Awards were handed out too. Shout to the Grammy Award Winning DJ LS One and a legend I'm privileged to call a friend and mentor, DJ Sandman. His Speakers Are The Best. Also, more legends that need no backstory. Crossing Kid Capri and Scram Jones off the bucketlist. Thanks to everyone for the music.

This is Episode 8. For today’s show, we talk first-week sales. How important is that to your favorite rapper? Does it really hold weight? Do you care what an album sells? Will a number change how you listen to an album—or how you view the artist?

We’re getting into the pressure behind those first-week numbers, what they actually tell us about an artist’s success, and whether we’ve become too obsessed with the scoreboard instead of the music. Because at the end of the day, is a great album still a great album if it doesn’t sell?

Catch you at the next one.

  • #7 - Is Nostalgia Killing New Music?
    Sep 13 2026

The more things change, the more music gets critiqued the same.

This is Episode 7. For today's show, we’re talking about nostalgia—what we miss about music, why we’re so attached to the past, and whether nostalgia is helping preserve great music… or making it harder for new music to grow. Big shout to @saintboogie, @whutupdoe & @wheresknox for participating!

Is the music business investing in the future—or putting all its chips on what already worked?Who’s responsible for helping music evolve? The artists? The fans? The labels? The platforms? Or are we all standing around saying, “Music just ain’t what it used to be,” while refusing to give anything new a chance?

We talk music, memories, the business, the responsibility of the listener, and why sometimes the past sounds even better when you stop expecting the present to recreate it.

Catch you at the next one.
