    Five kids, a stolen phone, and a cartel poster hunting them down. The ghosts are the least of their worries.We continue our series Fear Speaks Spanish with Tigers Are Not Afraid (Vuelven, 2017), written and directed by Mexican filmmaker Issa López. Estrella loses her mother to the narco war and joins a street gang of children led by El Shine, who stole the wrong phone from the wrong people. Armed with three wishes, a trail of blood guiding her, and a tiger painted on the walls, the film blends dark fairy tale with urban horror, with Guillermo del Toro serving as its great fairy godfather.Sebastián chose it for its 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and for something more personal: as Colombians who grew up in the '80s and '90s, the violence chasing these children is not fiction.
