When internal tension threatens to divide the early church, humble leadership and Spirit-filled believers step up to bring unity and continue the spread of the Gospel. In this sermon on Acts 6, Pastor Joel examines the calling of the seven leaders; including Stephen, and we discover biblical principles for handling division, opposition, and hardship.

The good news of Jesus cannot be silenced. In this message, Pastor Joel walks through Acts 5 and the apostles’ boldness in proclaiming Jesus, even in the face of division, opposition, and persecution.

The apostles’ example challenges us to obey God above all else and speak about Jesus with courage, trusting that no earthly power can stop God’s mission. Will you remain faithful to sharing the hope of Jesus, no matter the cost?

In Acts 4, Peter and John face arrest for healing a lame man, yet boldly proclaim that salvation is found in Jesus alone. Though ordinary and uneducated, their courageous witness proves the power of a life transformed by the Holy Spirit. Faced with ongoing threats, the early church responded not by praying for safety, but by praying relentlessly for boldness to keep sharing the gospel. This Spirit-given courage united believers in radical generosity, holding possessions loosely so no one was in need. Today, we are called to that same bold faith: speaking truth, enduring hardship, and serving together in love.
