  • Walking Away from Achievement to Find True Fulfillment with Brooke Baines
    Oct 22 2026

True personal transformation begins when we let go of expectations and give ourselves permission to live authentically.

In this inspiring episode of Building the Best You, Jeanne Collins sits down with entrepreneur, well-being coach, and aviation enthusiast Brooke Baines for a conversation about resilience, self-discovery, and rediscovering joy.

Brooke shares her vulnerable journey of walking away from a life defined by achievement, navigating painful transitions, and rebuilding a more fulfilling life.

Together, they explore why finding your purpose isn't about choosing one path, how to break free from limiting beliefs and perfectionism, and the importance of aligning your thoughts, emotions, words, and behaviors.

From practical daily wellness rituals to the power of human connection, this episode reminds us that personal growth isn't about having everything figured out — it's about staying curious, trusting yourself, and embracing the freedom to evolve.

Brooke's Book Recommendations: The Bhagavad Gita and The Creative Act

    More about Brooke:

Brooke Bains lives in Austin, turns 47 this Halloween, and spent a few years reading nothing published in the last 300 years. She will tell you there is no original thought. What is original is the person doing the sharing.

She playa in worlds that most of us keep separate. 20 years building tech companies, 2 built and exited, 100+ CEOs and leadership teams coached, and operations for an aviation tech company she helps run today, largely because flying is fun. P.S. She just started ground school.

Alongside tech, a well-being practice for ambitious people, built on the difference between wellness, which you buy, and well-being, which you become. Board certification in functional nutrition is expected in November 2026, with a focus on Traditional Chinese Medicine.

She got here the hard way, and then discovered purpose. A cancer diagnosis at 20, and a debilitating marriage she walked away from at 37, along with the company she had built inside it, taught her what she teaches now: there is no separating the body from the mind from the work. The warning comes first as a feather, then a 2x4, then a semi. Most people wait for the semi, and it’s worth understanding the feather.

So the coaching goes well-being 1st, and business 2nd. Living Integrity is how she defines integration, and she helps people see it clearly through her TEWB framework for thoughts, emotions, words, and behaviors. Wildly simple, and it works immediately once you find your own orientation to it.

She doesn’t help anyone and cannot cross anyone's bridge for them, but she can create radical clarity so they can cross it themselves. That is what she calls the massive leap, and it is where her work finds her today.

  • Mastering the Job Search and Interviewing Process with Founder Nicki Perchik
    Oct 15 2026

In this episode of Building the Best You, Jeanne Collins sits down with Nicki Perchik, founder and CEO of The NLP Group, a boutique executive search firm.

They discuss the realities of today's job market and how to approach career transitions with confidence, resilience, and intention. Drawing on nearly two decades of executive recruiting experience, Nicki shares practical job search strategies, from leveraging LinkedIn and building meaningful professional relationships to using AI effectively and telling your authentic career story.

Together, they explore the importance of emotional intelligence, overcoming rejection, setting realistic expectations, and finding balance between professional success and personal well-being.

Whether you're actively searching for a job, considering a career pivot, or looking to strengthen your professional brand, this conversation offers actionable tools and a refreshing mindset shift to help you navigate uncertainty, embrace new opportunities, and take ownership of your career growth.

Book recommendations from Nicki: Sacred Hoops and The Alchemist

    More about Nicki:

Nicki Perchik is the Founder and CEO of The NLP Group, a boutique executive search firm she launched in 2008. Over the years, she’s helped hundreds of companies hire thousands of professionals. She’s also had the privilege of coaching and counseling thousands of people as they’ve navigated the often challenging—and sometimes downright frustrating—world of job searching and advancing their careers.

Early on, Nicki noticed something that’s never changed: really smart, incredibly accomplished people often make surprisingly simple, easy-to-avoid mistakes when job searching and interviewing. And those mistakes can derail even the best opportunities—because when it comes to hiring, the best candidate on paper isn’t always the one who gets the job.

That realization eventually led her to write A Recruiter’s Truly Simple Guide to Stop F*cking Up When Job Searching & Interviewing and, more recently, to create her Tough Truths series on LinkedIn—candid lessons drawn from nearly 20 years in recruiting about hiring, interviewing, networking, career growth, and all the stuff nobody really tells you.
