    Episode 42 - Spencer Noble // Musician.

“Spencer Noble is a name I’ve heard about for years and a face I’ve seen in my friends social media posts for a long time. Today - I finally got to meet him and he’s chill ass dude. He’s been a crucial member in a lot of bands here in San Francisco and he’s finally turning the spotlight on himself and putting out music under his own vision. Spencer’s taking center stage and he’s got a new album out y’all. This episode is great because I feel like it touches on the unexpected timing of art making and how cosmic that can be. How sometimes ideas just fall out of us and with a little dedication you can transform those ideas into a body of work, in his case - some fun, musical bops!

In this episode of BEDROOM™, Spencer talks cute - as in, he talks about his new self-released album, titled “Cute”. It’s 11 tracks in length and full of poppy, indie rock sweetness. We dive into the making of the album and how it all sort of just rushed out of his brain and transformed into sound waves. Spencer dishes the lore of his musical past, we talk about his musical future, and he shares advice to aspiring musicians on how to go about writing music.

From there we tap into some listener-submitted questions - one from our friend Mars, the musician behind “Cilantro”, a BEDROOM™ alum and friend of the pod. We also have a listener-submitted question from another musician and friend of the pod, BEDROOM™ alum Mayya, who performs under their name and also plays in Mild Universe and La Luz.

Finally, we wrap things up with a round of BEDROOM BANTER™, where Arshia and I rapid-fire some classic BEDROOM™ questions and Spencer gives the fans what they want. Big shoutout to Spencer for coming on to the pod. Welcome to the BEDROOM™, y’all. WORLDWIDE PEACE.” – PSG

Episode 41 - Ro Gooch // Barber. Content Creator.

"Ro Gooch aka “Ro The Barber” is the dopest barber in The City y’all. Look no further, that’s my pick, that’s my MVP, all hail the people’s champ, baby. They’ve been in San Francisco for about a year now and they’ve already made a major splash in the city - we love to see a superstar in the making and that’s exactly what they are - a superstar. Since their arrival, Ro has cut hair in a commercial for the Golden State Valkyries, they’ve been on the news cutting hair, they cut hair live at Outside Lands this year, and most importantly they’re one of the flagship founding barbers at The Barb Shop in Bernal Heights - my personal favorite place to get me hairs chopped. I’m so stoked to have Ro on this episode of BEDROOM, their energy is intoxicating, they’re such a phenom of inspiration, and they’re honestly just a joy to be around. Personally, Ro for me was one of those instant connection kind of friend and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it was all thanks to social media. In an age where everyone is harping on the bad side of social media - which, I get it, it’s absolutely insane out there and I agree with how toxic it can be - but there is always a yin to the yang and Ro the Pro to the Con. Their online presence is a beacon of positivity and light on the gram. Their content is fun and engaging and I really feel like San Francisco scored with Ro. My thought? I feel like they’re going to be the next big online star to take over the algorithm and it’s only a matter of time. Snip snip y’all! That.

In this episode of BEDROOM™, Ro The Barber dishes their back story of how they found themselves behind the chair. We take the journey from South Lake Tahoe to Portland to The City. We talk about inclusivity, gender affirming hair cuts, comfortability, mental health, and we dish out lots of laughs. Ro shares about an upcoming book they’re working on and we go behind the scenes with Ro and talk about all of the intersections of their creative life.

From there we tap into some listener-submitted questions - one from Angela Zajic, bridal and event hair stylist and Sheena, the found of The Barb.

Finally, we wrap things up with a round of BEDROOM BANTER™, where Arshia and I rapid-fire some classic BEDROOM™ questions and Ro Gooch and “Ro The Barber” gives the fans what they want. Big shoutout to Ro for coming on to the pod. Welcome to the BEDROOM™, y’all. WORLDWIDE PEACE.” – PSG

Episode 40 – War For Knowledge aka “Nacho” // Illustrator. Designer.

“I don’t remember when this happened, but at some point in recent years, I came across the incredible work of a Southern California based artist on Instagram. His Instagram handle is none other than today’s guest, the legend himself, War For Knowledge. As time went on, I learned his named was actually Nacho and we came became internet buds. Nacho is someone who I feel a connection with because we sort of work in the same general field and it’s always inspiring to witness the graphical goodies he creates. Nacho has a great perspective on life, is extremely talented, has a good head on his shoulders, and is someone I’m happy to call my homie. Also, if you don’t want to take it from me on how epic the dude is, take it from Thrasher Magazine - Nacho was written about in an article for the mag. That’s all the proof you need for his iconic status. He’s a magical wizard with the brush pen and I can’t wait to keep watching the work he churns out in this lifetime.

In this episode of BEDROOM™, War For Knowledge aka “Nacho” shares lore to his origin story - with a youth full of obsessed graffiti writing, he talks about how he transitioned from spraying cans to drawing with brush pens, attending several colleges and eventually landing in San Francisco to attend the Academy of Art and pursuing illustration. He then talks about his early jobs post art school and how he eventually landed at the legendary Baker Boys Distribution, a hub for some of the most iconic brands in the skateboard industry - in example: Baker, Deathwish, Birdhouse, Shake Junt, and more. He shares about the power of mantras and dives into how skateboard graphics are made. He talks about collaborating with skaters and skate art legends like Kevin Spanky long, Jim Greco, Shane Heyl, Andrew Reynolds, and more. He then talks about making graphics for Tony Hawk’s company, Birdhouse. After all the skate talk, we then get into music. Nacho shares about making his first Blink-182 concert poster and how he got started in the music merchandise game. We talk about Nacho’s fine art paintings, his creative process, and many more fun creative topics.

We then tap into a few listener-submitted questions, one from Andrew Snarr - Illustrator and Designer in the music industry, previously at Welcome Skateboard - and another set of questions from BEDROOM™ Alum, Donta Santistevan - Illustrator and Designer who works at Thrasher Magazine.

Finally, we wrap things up with a round of BEDROOM BANTER™, where Arshia and I rapid-fire some classic BEDROOM™ questions and Nacho aka War For Knowledge gives the fans what they want. Big shoutout to Nacho for coming on the pod. Welcome to the BEDROOM™, y’all. WORLDWIDE PEACE.” – PSG
