As I See It — Pete George is photography, conversation, personal stories and everyday life through the eyes of someone who's spent more than 40 years watching people, places, and moments unfold. Sometimes it’s a story. Sometimes an observation. Sometimes it’s simply something that caught my eye, made me think, made me laugh, pissed me off, or felt worth talking about. There’s no fixed format and no fixed length. From photography and travel to sport, people and the ordinary moments that become great stories — if it interests me, it might end up here.No script. No formula. Just conversation, stories and life, as I see it.Pete George — See with Purpose. Share with Heart.Copyright Peter Arte Scienze sociali
  • Photography Isn't Perfection, It's Presence
    Oct 6 2026
I asked AI to make a photo. At first glance, it was convincing. Look closer, and the cracks appear. In this episode of As I See It, I share why AI has its place in my work, in research, writing and sorting ideas, but why real photography is something it can't do. AI doesn't feel the cool air before sunrise. It doesn't wait for the fisherman to cast his net or the cloud to break. It guesses. After 40 years behind the camera, I believe photography isn't about capturing what's there. It's about recognising what's worth keeping. That instinct is lived, not downloaded, and what makes an image real isn't perfection. It's presence. See the work at petegeorge.com.au. See with purpose. Share with heart.#photography

  • When the Selfie Became Selfish
    Oct 3 2026
The selfie was never the problem. It was a simple way of saying, “I was here.”But somewhere along the way, something changed. The destination became the backdrop, culture became a prop, and the experience became content. In this episode of As I See It, Pete George reflects on what happens when travelling becomes less about seeing a place and more about being seen in it. Drawing on decades behind a camera and his experiences in Bali, Pete asks whether we've become so focused on capturing and sharing the moment that we've forgotten to actually experience it. Because perhaps the question isn't whether a photograph will get attention. It's whether it honours the place you're standing in.
