Welcome to the first episode of All in the Family Office, hosted by Denny Chared and David Alberts. We all know the names of the world's most influential families, but rarely their stories. This show goes behind the office door to see how these families built their fortunes, how they pass their values from one generation to the next, and how each generation finds its own lane while moving from affluence to influence.
Our first guest is Nancy Spielberg, the award-winning documentary producer behind Above and Beyond and Letter to David. Nancy grew up as cast and crew in her brother Steve's first films in Phoenix. She stayed out of the film business for years because she was sure people were waiting for her to fail. Then she revived her father's old company, Playmount Productions, and made it her own.
Nancy talks about the pressures that come with the Spielberg name, and why she uses her married name, Katz, when she calls a plumber. She explains why sibling time stays free of agendas, and she makes the case for "Steve makes movies that make money, I make movies that make a difference."
