  • Episode #48: Navigating Mom Guilt- 'Inspiration and Coffee' Choosing One, Two, or None and Living with Peace
    Jan 1 2026

Episode 48: Choosing One, Two, or None And Living With Peace

On this episode of A Soulful Mom’s Wisdom, we step into a conversation many think quietly but rarely say out loud: the decision to have zero, one, or two children and the opinions that inevitably follow no matter what you choose.

Because the truth is this: every choice invites commentary, but not every voice deserves authority. We begin by unpacking the narratives placed on each path.

At zero, you may be labeled selfish, when in reality you’re choosing responsibility and self-awareness over obligation.

At one, you may be told your child needs a playmate, or that you shouldn’t have become a parent at all ignoring the reality that every family, environment, and capacity is different. And for those who desire more but are unable, this episode gently reminds us: God does not set children up for failure. Provision comes in many forms.

At two, guilt can show up differently wondering if you’ve taken on more than you can truly carry.

Ultimately, the question isn’t what others think. It’s this: What can you live with long-term? Will you be haunted by “what ifs,” or grounded in peace knowing you chose with honesty?

In the second half of the episode, I share what I’ve learned: lessons rooted in reality, not romanticized motherhood. The most important questions aren’t about numbers, but about support systems.

Do you have emotional support during postpartum?

Do you have physical and environmental support?

We also look ahead. As children grow, what does their care system look like?

And then comes the grounding truth we can’t ignore: Children are not accessories or proof of fulfillment.

They are full humans hard work, sacred work, who will grow up and either add value to the world or struggle within it. And we play a powerful role in that outcome.

This episode is guided by a deep seated truth from Africa O.:

"Living in reality versus societal expectations may create short term discomfort but longterm peace. Choose wisely."

We close by touching on the science behind clarity and decision-making, how even short bouts of movement can improve executive function, mood, and stress regulation. Because sometimes the answers don’t come from thinking harder, but from moving the body and giving the mind space to breathe.

This episode invites you to choose with wisdom, compassion, and self-trust, not fear, pressure, or performance.

    Episode Highlights

    • The emotional weight of choosing zero, one, or two children

    • Reframing “selfishness” as responsibility and discernment

    • Letting go of guilt tied to fertility, capacity, and comparison

    • The real support systems parents need emotionally and practically

    • Viewing children as humans to nurture, not expectations to fulfill

    • How movement supports clarity, emotional regulation, and decision-making

You’re allowed to choose a life that fits the truth of who you are.

Peace doesn’t come from pleasing everyone, it comes from living aligned. 🖤

  • Episode #47: Navigating Mom Guilt- Expectations & Wellness in Every Season
    Dec 22 2025

Episode 47: Expectations & Wellness in Every Season

On this episode of A Soulful Mom’s Wisdom, we’re unpacking expectations, especially the quiet, often unspoken ones we place on ourselves when it comes to wellness, healthy eating, and movement. Because the truth is this: what wellness looks like today may not look the same tomorrow, and that doesn’t mean you’re falling behind. It means you’re human, moving through seasons.

We begin with healthy eating—not as a rigid rulebook, but as an intentional practice shaped by alignment. Alignment with your partner. Alignment with your household. Alignment with the season you’re currently living in. From emotional eating, missed meals, and forgotten veggies to the simple reality that healthy choices don’t happen by accident, this conversation centers on the need for gentleness and intention when nourishing ourselves and our families.

From there, I share what this season has taught me. Lessons rooted in grace. Reminders that everything is temporary. That smoothies can be lifesavers. That frozen fruits and vegetables are not shortcuts they’re support. That simpler ingredient lists often mean less processing and more nourishment. That cooking in bulk can be an act of self-respect. And yes, that investing in quality glass food storage, different sizes, ready to serve future you can quietly change the game.

We then shift into movement and expectations around exercise. Depending on the season you’re in, walking up and down the stairs or taking brief walks around your neighborhood may be all you can realistically offer your body. And that’s okay. The invitation here is acceptance, leaning into what’s possible instead of resisting it.

We close with a grounding call to action, one rooted in values, not perfection. This week, choose one habit, or add one small habit, that ties directly to what matters most to you.

Because you’re not failing, you’re adapting.

This episode is guided by this grounding truth from Africa O.:

“Wellness will look different according to the season you're in. Focusing on what’s sustainable and your values is all that matters.”

Let that land. Let it soften you. And let it remind you that you’re doing better than you think.

    Episode Highlights

    • Aligning with your partner and family around healthy eating in real-life seasons

    • Reframing healthy eating with grace, simplicity, and sustainability

    • Practical nourishment tips: smoothies, frozen produce, bulk cooking, and minimal ingredients

    • Redefining movement when capacity is limited—and honoring consistency over intensity

    • Creative ways to stay motivated with incentives and joyful multitasking

    • A values-based call to action for building habits you can actually sustain

You’re allowed to meet yourself where you are. This season counts. And so do you.
