All characters are DESPICABLE and Brontë writes them SO well! I understand why this is a classic now, I stopped reading it when I was younger as I couldn't stand how horrid every character was, but I see now this is a cautionary tale or better a crude description of how evil people can be, not a love stor, as it is often sold to be.
Yes, I'm looking a you Emerald, the only good thing that came out of that film was to make me finally read this book.

Questo racconto mi ha irritato e non poco, non so se più per tutti gli atteggiamenti infantili dei vari personaggi oppure per il continuo cambio della voce narrante che si adatta a ciascuno di loro, forse a tratti esagerando un po'. Può anche darsi che sia io quella immatura della gen z che, con l'ADHD, fa fatica a seguire una storia così tanto prolissa, ups. Scusami Emily Brontë, sono io il problema.
