A proposito di questo titolo
Lenka has spent years trying not to remember.
When she returns to Vinterholm, she expects the city to be familiar, perhaps even comforting. Instead, old places begin stirring memories she cannot fully trust. Then she meets Stanislav, a quiet, thoughtful man whose presence feels strangely familiar, and for the first time in years, Lenka allows herself to believe that the past might finally be behind her.
But Stanislav disappears.
What begins as a search for a missing man soon draws Lenka toward a locked door, an abandoned clinic, old photographs, anonymous messages, and a childhood memory she has never been able to understand. The deeper she investigates, the less certain she becomes about what she remembers, what she has been told, and what the people closest to her may have kept from her.
Kristýna, her oldest friend, asks for her trust. Stanislav's disappearance raises questions about his past. And fragments of evidence point toward a secret connected to children who were once brought into a program that was supposed to help them, but may have done something far more disturbing.
As the boundaries between memory and evidence begin to blur, Lenka must confront a painful possibility: perhaps the truth she has spent years searching for cannot give her the certainty she wants.
Some memories protect us. Others keep us trapped.
To move forward, Lenka may have to accept that she will never know everything about what happened, and decide whether she can still trust, love, and live with what remains.
