Sintesi dell'editore

At 44, acclaimed cardiologist Dr. John Day was overweight and suffered from insomnia, degenerative joint disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. On six medications and suffering constant aches, he needed to make a change. While lecturing in China, he'd heard about a remote mountainous region known as Longevity Village, a wellness Shangri-La free of disease where living past 100 was not uncommon. In the hope of understanding this incredible phenomenon, Dr. Day decided to spend time living in Longevity Village. During his time there, he discovered seven principles that work in tandem to create health, happiness, and longevity - rules he applied to his own life. Six months later he had lost 30 pounds, had lowered both his cholesterol and his blood pressure, and had even been cured of his acid reflux and insomnia. Now Dr. Day shares his story and the proven program he's developed to help you, too, feel sharper, more productive, more motivated, and pain-free.

Well rounded

I liked that this book wasn't bashing other diet protocols and didn't push any certain agendas. it was just sharing how centarians lived their lives.

Life changing

This tale of health and longevity was engaging and easy to listen to. I was carried away by the scenery and characters, so much so that by the end of the book I was calling myself a member of longevity village and could hear the voices of the centenarians sharing their wisdom with me. Thank you Dr Day for writing this book and thank you Joel Richards for narrating it so beautifully!

Changed My Life

The discoveries of this book opened up a whole new paradigm through which I now more optimistically view my life and the possibilities available to me. Living the seven principles, I am creating a more abundant, joyful life: discover my purpose, eat real food, be in motion, nurture a mindful mindset, align with the rhythm of nature, design an empowering environment, build and contribute to a supportive community. The China Longevity Village centenarians and their beautiful lives offer me freedom and courage to change the course of my life to include more possibility. It is our hope in sharing their and our stories that you too will be empowered to shift your paradigm of what it can mean to live and age more joyfully and abundantly.

Well worth listening to and implementing!

This is a book that I will listen to several times. Since our health care system is actually a chronic disease management system, the information in this book is beneficial to achieving and maintaining optimal health.

FDA wake up call

Great summary of the ailments and prescriptions to our poor state of healthfulness. US healthcare and FDA wake up call to refocus on health issues even at a cost to big pharma and mega Agra.
