Excellent resource
This is a perfect companion to the best-selling books, and by far the best value when purchasing from the large range of Tolle audio on offer. I found this most useful to just meditate with, or have on in the car. Don't expect a narrative or, really, any sense of structure here. This is, for want of a better word, him rambling. But the rambling is very useful. Once you accept the pace and tone of the lectures, you can relax into it, and enjoy the moments of great humour and insight. Like any of Tolle's work, you either get it and instantly revel in it's genius, or feel completely frustrated by it and find it to be nonsense. I felt the former.

Disappointing
I like his stuff, but this is NOT a book. He is MUCH better reading than lecturing. Very slow and not at all methodical..just very slow rambling.

Not for Casual Listening
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, if they were interested in meditation and spiritual development. Just like any subject you have to have an interest in it, otherwise it could be an excruciating experience. With Mr. Tolle I recommend borrowing one of his books to determine whether what he teaches resonates with you before purchasing his audiobooks.
What other book might you compare The Eckhart Tolle Audio Collection to and why?
I suppose anything written by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche or the Dalai Lama because there are kernels of truth within the writing that guide you to be a better human being.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I believe it does. Mr. Tolle's voice is very soothing. He allows for frequent spaces in his discourse to both digest what is being taught and to be "naked" in the moment, as it were.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
That we are constantly creating the story of "me" moment by moment. And we love to tell it to ourselves and others.
Any additional comments?
A word of warning - do not purchase this with the expectation of being entertained. Mr. Tolle does not talk excitedly nor enthusiastically about his subject. He is very calm, quiet, and soothing. He often produces significant gaps of time with no talking. He is sometimes funny. This is all for the purpose of bringing you to a calm, light, almost meditative state.

A retreat
I love his live recordings. His voice is quiet, you hear him clear his throat and you hear the audience which makes these recordings feel real - It's like I am at the retreat myself, listening to powerful teaching and I can go to the retreat as often as I want, over and over. I am utterly grateful for these resources and listen to them almost everyday.

Finding joy in quiet
I really enjoyed Eckhart Tolle as he shows us how to slow down and enjoy the true joy in silence. Enjoyable and worth the time to listen and learn.

OMG
This guys has the most boring, dull voice, but this is unreal, if you need a good night's sleep.
I take my MP3 player to bed and this puts me to sleep within the 1st 3 minutes. I had to listen to this in the day, as I honestly could remember what it was about.
I have never been able to listen to it all, so it is my all time favourite to take to bed, I have played it maybe 20 times and get the best 7hrs 23 minutes sleep ever. A must buy for a good nights sleep; hence 3 stars rating.
"the Power of Now" didn't put me to sleep, I enjoyed the content, that is why I bought this.

Good information
Where does The Eckhart Tolle Audio Collection rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is similar to most of his teachings but as with most of his teachings, he has the same basic teachings, he is not trying to add anything to the listener. The purpose of his teachings is to point to the truth. Once you recognize the truth, no matter which book of his you listen to. There have been a couple of his teachings that brought me to awakening. This was my first Eckhart Tolle audio. I had to listen to several others such as the Power of now, but it took listening to practicing the power of now for me to "get it"
If you’ve listened to books by Eckhart Tolle before, how does this one compare?
It is similar to all of his teachings. I recommend practicing the power of now as it gives most of his message as well as some meditations included.

Simply Profound
Eckart Tolle is a modern age spirtual teacher, with a good sense of humor. Of course, depends on your taste in humor. However, his teaching, where he does not hestitate to borrow from various conventional religious teachings to the more obscure are easliy undertsood - putting them into practice you will find is not something you can 'plan to do'. Read and find out...

A Pleasant Listen
Eckhart Tolle has achieved a peaceful state of being. Along with that he has achieved personal success. It would seem that Eckhart, on occasion, has made errors in certain statements regarding Buddhism. One, that I recall, was how Buddhism prejudices women. I'm not sure where Eckhart got this from but Shakyamuni allowed women to join his monastic. His own aunt became a nun. He, in my opinion, makes other errors regarding Buddhism. Another oddity was his teaching of a new movement on Earth, that is, humanity finally becoming enlightened in a big way. The human condition, to me, seems anything but enlightened, nor is it headed this way. I thought that maybe he knows as this sort of thing is what he does for a living. At the end of the listen he is interviewed. The interviewer must have picked this up too as she asks Eckhart the very same question. She is also doubtful of humanity becoming enlightened. Eckhart responded that it may just be that he is thinking this because he sees so many people that seem to be making a change for the better and that maybe humanity on a whole is not really becoming any more enlightened, peaceful, etc. This, I believe, was an honest answer from Eckhart. I do believe he has attained a certain level of enlightenment and this listen is pleasant if nothing else. His popularity, at least in part, seems to come from his simple, peaceful way. Namaste!

Excellent, Best to read the books first though
I found the books by this author to be helpful and powerful, and these recordings are also very helpful.
I think people may have quite different reactions to it depending on their experience and the way they see the world, but I'm sure for many it will be helpful. I did not find his accent difficult to understand, although it is unusual by North American standards. And I like his sense of humor!
If you have not read any of his books, this may not be the best introduction, as for much of the recording he is addressing audiences that are familiar with his material, and so takes some things for granted in his talk.
The first session in the recording is somewhat like a guided meditation, that continues for somewhere around 2 hours. Not exactly a meditation, because he is speaking the whole time, but constantly inviting the audience to connect with their immediate experience and "enter the now". Recorded at a retreat, it really led me into a nice learning experience. I've listened to it more than once, and you needn't necessarily listen to the whole thing, you can drop in and out of it as well.
Well worth listening to!

Great material delivered badly
I HATE to do this to a man I admire more than any other but this audio collection is impossible to listen to. I have heard hypnosis tapes with more verve and delivery. Tolle is a genius but his work is best absorbed via the written word because he has the delivery of a zombie - sorry Eckhart !!

Very good but…
annoying laughter in the audience by one particular man…. All the way through the seven and something hours really did require you to use every bit of skill learned from the great Eckhart Tolle. Worth getting but not one to listen to whilst lolling of to sleep

This isn't for me
I have tried on and off for 8 months to get into this recording and haven't managed to do so - I do find Eckhart Tolle's voice quite difficult to listen to. I enjoyed his book, the power of now, but found these recordings didn't appeal to me at all.
