Something old, something new

I am an absolute fan of the Abraham information and always gain a better understanding of where I am from listening to the Abraham info.

The drawback now is that, after owning most of their books or audios, there is a repetitive history intro at the beginning of every book and audio. Once you have read or heard it once, I don't want to hear it again at the start of each new publication like a self-promotion commercial. I'm not interested in knowing how their books are doing in the ratings, where their products can be purchased, what people are saying about them on a blog, and the general history of how they got started in all of this. I was looking forward to the Abraham information on how to control my emotions and work my way out of the "down" times, but at 17 minutes into the audio I wasn't out of the "Esther & Jerry" routine. I'm not sure if it is a marketing thing or ego related, but the self-promo at the start of every book, audio and most DVD's is boring after the first listen, and a waste of time for everything since.

The Abraham info is worth every penny, and something new can be learned with each listening. I figured out where the promo ended and marked it down... now I just skip that part to get to the meat of the audio!!

Don't let this review deter you from buying this audio. It is worth it, just realize the first 1/2 hour or so is filler.

Incredibly useful, lifechanging information

I've been a student of 'Law of Attraction' for some time now, and never before have I had so many "ah-ha"'s. The information is presented in a way that it is extremely practical, & gives several examples of how to apply it in everyday life. This is one of the most helpful, engaging books I have ever read on the subject of personal development & being happy.

Life Changing

I was hesitant to purchase this book but The Astonishing Power of Emotions gave me the power to change my thoughts. This book gave me the actual words to use to change my thoughts. It has been very helpful to change my old negative thoughts to positive powerful thoughts. I am learning to float downstream and life is good!

Not much new for me

I downloaded this as I love the Esther and Jerry Hicks books. I have found that they offer the best explanation going for the Law of Attraction and how to use it in your life. However, I did not rate this one so highly firstly because I find that Jerry speaks a little too fast for my slow brain to catch up!! Secondly, most of the chapters are examples. I think after the first 5 or so examples, you have got it and I think the rest are unnecessary. The basic premise is that if you are having negative thoughts and bad feelings you are rowing upstream. The secret to peace and happiness is to let go of the oards, think good thoughts and let life take you where it will. If you get that message out of it I guess it is probably worth the fee.

The Astonishing Power of Emotions (Unabridged)

I was really looking forward to this book because I love the works of Esther Hicks. But I was was ultimately disappointed. First, the style of reciting patient/practitioner dialogues requires 2 voices or at least someone who can manifest different voices. I often couldn't keep up with who was saying what as the reader hastily read his script. And, as the book progressed, the writer ceased being clear about which ideas or patient self-talk were "upstream" and which were "downstream." It was like the book was written in a hurry. That speeding, impersonal voice did not have the same impact and clarity as we get when Abraham (via Esther) is interacting with his subjects.

Not as good at Money and the Law of Attraction

It may be my ADD, but I liked Money and the law of attraction because both Ester and Jerry spoke and it broke it up and kept my attention. I like the contents of the book, and I've seen it work in my life, but I get bored with just hearing Jerry speak.
Great sound quality.

The inner Bell is Ringing

The hype has been, think & grow rich, positive thoughts change you life, etc. I agree, but agreeing & doing are 2 very different issues.

Abraham, I believe is the real deal. Even at that it is easier said than done. Vibrating high or low for some might sound strange, but even though high vibration is where I want to be, does that make it so. We shall see, like anything it is a work in progress, but I know I have been at higher vibrations at times, when things just flow. However, lower vibration has been my path for the last few years, why? Don't know. I know where happiness is the real driving force for most, but self sabatouge seems to rule as of late, but this audio gives so many wonderful clarifications of the process of tapping into our true nature, it is refreshing. I saw Abraham at the 1st hayhouse convention in Las Vegas; never heard of them, thought it was a strange conference, but now I am listening & understanding to the degree that I can. I have only listened once, it is a 6 hr audio, but it will be played over & over. I find that certain audios that are truly remarkable, like "You can Heal your Life" reveals new information every time you listen. I am truly grateful that you carry these types of audio & know it is a priceless source of development, thank you.

Astonishing and Powerful

I help people for a living and you can imagine the different situations I find myself in daily.
This audio has so many "hit the nail on the head" examples of real life and how we react to it, I have found it invaluable.
I am definitely concentrating on going Downstream on a Yearly, Daily, Hourly, and Minute by Minute basis!

What can I say? If you have read, watched or listened to any of the other teachings of Abraham, as presented by Esther & Jerry Hicks, then you will most certainly want to add their newest book to your knowledge base for living.

Ignore The Joo-Joo! And Use the Practical Advice!

Would you listen to The Astonishing Power of Emotions again? Why?

I've listened to this book - pre Audible - on audio CD - many times. If you are skeptical, and don't even like the idea of metaphysics, or law of attraction - I would recommend this book - listen to part 1, get a taste of their world view - adopt it or not - laugh at it or consider it - it _doesn't matter_ - here's what matters: the idea of "downstream" thoughts. The exercises in the 2nd part will help immensely finding a way to get a sense of "acceptance" about life, and how to feel better about your circumstances. Will that cause love, money, and success to magically flow into your life? WHO CARES?! If you adjust your thoughts - using this simple method - You'll feel better. You don't have to believe the joo-joo to use the tools here.

Also, I find Jerry's voice very soothing - it has like a gentle grandfather kind of character to it.
