Have a pen handy. You will want to take notes.

This podcast will provoke thought. You may listen or re-listen to the music they talk about. You will load up your Netflix or playlists with the performers they reminisce about. The conversations are timely for 2020, but they are timeless, too. I loved all 6 episodes and I hope there will be more.

Inspiration from Common

Thank you, Common! This podcast is positive and uplifting. I appreciate how you encouraged your guests to share lyrics that they wrote in the past, as well as talk about their childhoods and the people and life events that inspired them to become who they are today.

Episode 1

I loved the discussion. Bryan Stevenson spoke on the gift of being black which stuck out to me. The resilience of black people, the persistence is so strong that our gift is very powerful.

What connects us

This is excellent one of the best podcasts on Audible. It's a run of interviews of people who have used their minds in incredibly successful and inspiring ways, to beat the odds and create something true, be it legal help for those who need it the most, stand up comedy, dance and more. They are interviewed by American rapper, actor, and writer Common, who draws great responses out of them. This is powerfully about voices in the black community, but it is for everyone, at heart it is about what connects us all. I haven't heard matters of faith, justice, and the heart talked about in such an authentic way for a long time. I am praying for another season of this. Just brilliant

Absolutely Fantastic !

What a fabulous collection of conversations. it was like going to church listening to Common and his guests delving deep. I loved the cool old school swagger vibe with the music and the lyrical way Common interacted with his guests. This was truly a mental and spiritual feast! Thank you Common and Audible.

Truly inspiring

He begins with a freestyle introduction to the artist, and ends with a chosen hip-hop verse that sums up that artist. In between, he allows the inspirational light of the artist shine.
