A solid reading

A D&D-esque adventure with several twists you wouldn't expect. The characters are very well fleshed out, with special attention to the women. A not so minor, albeit clearly unintentional, slip in calling the undead curse "blackening". I say unintentional because inclusivity is a huge underlying theme in the story, especially when it comes to the persecution of the draoidhs, the magic users of this setting.
The world building is not revolutionary, but solid, and the world is detailed and coherent, its rules clear enough that, when it comes to understanding a magical twist, it comes natural.
I needed some getting used to the performance, but once it clicked, I enjoyed it a lot.
in the end, a very good title.
