Although not sure which to believe, his desire to cross through intensified. He then finds that the answer to his dilemma may lie with a certain drug.

This is the tale of a 228 year old man, born in 1690, telling about his interactions with Dr. Samuel Johnson. A large part focuses on their belonging to a literary club and the other men who also participated in the club. It is a simple observance of social interactions, as put forth by a very old man and his dated voice.

At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft is a chilling tale of cosmic horror and psychological dread. Presented as the first-person account of geologist William Dyer, a professor at Miskatonic University, the story follows an ill-fated Antarctic expedition that uncovers ancient ruins and nightmarish horrors buried beneath the ice. As the team explores towering, otherworldly structures and strange hieroglyphs, they come to realize that they are not alone—unspeakable beings, long thought extinct, still lurk in the frozen wastes.
