Die toten Seelen ist ein Roman von Nikolaj Gogol (1809-1852). Der erste Teil wurde 1842 veröffentlicht. Ursprünglich war eine Trilogie geplant, aber Gogol vollendete nur die ersten beiden Teile, wovon der zweite aber nur bruchstückhaft überliefert ist. Das Originalmanuskript des zweiten Teils vernichtete Gogol kurz vor seinem Tod.
