One of the premier drama programs of the golden age of radio, Suspense was subtitled radio’s outstanding theater of thrills. The protagonist was usually a normal person suddenly dropped into a bizarre or threatening situation; solutions were “withheld until the last possible second”, and evildoers were usually punished in the end.

This popular radio program followed Randy Stone, a hard-nosed Chicago Star newsman, and his quest for the human-interest story behind the headlines. Running from 1950 to 1952, listeners were invited to join the newsman in his journeys, oftentimes encountering criminals and troubled souls.
