The notoriously hard-drinking, backstabbing Stonebridge Radio crew are having their Hallowe'en party on Winkle Island, rumoured to be the most haunted place in Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, Adam and Colin are there, too, having accepted an easy pay day from Colin's event-organising mother. At dinner, a shocking announcement is followed by an even more shocking murder, and the theft of a priceless Firefly necklace. To top it all, thanks to a raging storm, everyone is trapped on the island.

It's Christmas! A year since their last case, and Adam and Colin are called out of semi-retirement when Stonebridge legend and regular town Santa, Gerald Agnew, is found dead in the snow. The police believe his death to be a drunken accident, but evidence that our amateur detectives uncover points to something more sinister. When DI Whitelaw dismisses their claims, Adam and Colin must navigate drug dealers, deception and department store Santas to get to the truth.

McNulty's Meats, one of Stonebridge's oldest businesses, is about to be taken over in a lucrative deal that would make brothers Ron and Kevin very rich men indeed. Unfortunately for them, local activist Tyler Love has other ideas. Convinced that the deal would be bad for the town, he burns the business to the ground and inadvertently kills himself in the process. As least, that's what the police think.

The Stonebridge Regatta is looming. The town's annual face-off against neighbouring Meadowfield is usually a weekend filled with sunshine, laughter and camaraderie. This year is different. A week before the race, the body of Stonebridge team captain Matthew Henderson is found dead in the water. The police file his passing as a tragic accident; however, his grieving widow disagrees and suspects foul play is involved. She enlists the help of Adam and Colin, the town's amateur (self-proclaimed) private detectives, to unearth the truth.
