After coming to terms with her husband’s death, Special FBI agent Emily Slate thought she’d finally be able to move on with her life. But when the assassin who has been hunting her shows up on her front door with a gun in her hand, Emily knows it’s far from over. It seems the assassin has been betrayed by the same Organization who hired her, and must now rely on Emily to help her enact her revenge. But when Emily refuses, the assassin raises the stakes, putting Emily’s personal life in danger and giving her no choice but to comply.

A string of arson cases brings Emily to the historic city of Charleston right as she’s in the middle of trying to find the woman who killed her husband. Her personal investigation will have to wait, however, because the local community is on edge, having already lost two firefighters in these tragedies. But before she can get very far, more blazes erupt throughout the city, causing a panic within the ranks.

Following the massive revelations about her family and the Organization that killed her husband, Special Agent Emily Slate had hoped she was finally on the right track to take them all down and finally find the answers she needed. But due to the fallout from her actions regarding the same Organization, Emily has been relegated back to desk duty, and is given a new ultimatum: she’s being transferred to a new office and will need to start all over again.
