Über manche Fälle wollte ich den Mantel des Schweigens fallen lassen, da man nicht mit genauer Gewissheit die Geschehnisse rational nachvollziehen konnte. Durch meinen verehrten Kollegen H. P. Lovecraft sah ich mich aber gezwungen doch zumindest im kleinen Kreise Rechenschaft abzugeben und einen Bericht zu verfassen, der eine nüchternere Einschätzung der Ereignisse wieder gibt und sich nicht zu weit ins abenteuerliche Phantastische begibt.

Der Privatdetektiv Derek Adams wird von einer unbekannten Schönen beauftragt, nach einem gestohlenen Amulett zu suchen. Adams willigt ein. Damit beginnt seine Albtraumfahrt durch das Reich des Grauens. Raymond Chandler trifft auf H. P. Lovecraft. Ein düsterer Noir-Krimi.
