Young Earth Creationists believe that thousands of asteroids hit the Earth and the supercontinent Pangea split into present-day continents all during the one year of Noah's Flood. They say God miraculously dissipated the heat generated by the collision of asteroids and the breakup of Pangea so that Noah and those on the ark could survive.

Come out of the darkness and live in the light.

Meteor craters on Mars and Earth's moon are evidence that Earth is very, very old.

Young earth creationists use the current rate of population growth to determine the age of the earth. This method does not take into account the many variables that have affected population growth over the millennia. Their calculations are based on unverifiable assumptions that ignore the research of archaeologists who have evidence for a much older earth.

This podcast is the first of two about how to understand Genesis chapters 1 and 2.

Young Earth creationists believe that they can estimate the age of the Earth by using the genealogies in the Bible to count backward to Adam and Eve. Unfortunately for Young Earth creationists, there are two glaring problems with these genealogies. The first problem is that the genealogical lists in Genesis 5 and 11 are too short to account for the time humans have been on earth. The second problem is that the extraordinarily long lifespans of the men, especially in Genesis 5, are not biologically possible.
