Your Pastor Won’t Preach This at Your Funeral

What happens when a family knows there’s a life insurance policy—but nobody can find it?

Pastor and financial strategist T. Ray Greer Jr. has seen families grieve while searching for paperwork, trying to pay for a funeral, and disagreeing over what their loved one intended. In this episode, he speaks about the money conversation that cannot wait until the funeral.

You’ll hear five questions to ask while you can still do something about the answers:

• Can your family find your life insurance policy?
• Do you have coverage of your own beyond what your job provides?
• Are your beneficiaries up to date?
• Could your family afford to keep the home?
• Have you put your wishes in writing?

Take one step this week: Gather your policies and important documents, review the names on them, and tell someone you trust where to find them. Then share this episode with the family member who needs to be part of that conversation.
