  • Episode 148 – NBA Preseason & Early Rookie Reactions
    Oct 10 2026

NBA PRESEASON IS HERE, which means it’s time to start judging teams and rookies off a handful of games before the season has even begun.

We kick things off with Nets vs Hornets, the vibes around Minnesota, and the early signs that the Bucks could be in for a rough season. We also get into Giannis and Milwaukee’s former Heat players, asking why some guys seem to lose their aura the moment they put on a Bucks jersey.

Then it’s time for our early rookie check-in. Caleb Wilson’s patient scoring and ability to create off the dribble catch our eye, while Cam Boozer gets some love as a winning player. Are we already seeing reasons to be excited, or is it far too early to draw conclusions?

Alex joins the conversation as we get into Timberwolves vs Pacers, including the great game between the teams and whether Minnesota’s new-look vibe makes them more fun to watch — even if they might be a worse team. Alex is bullish on the Wolves, putting them third in the West, while also discussing LaMelo Ball’s health and whether he can fit defensively.

Elsewhere, the 76ers are looking fun, the Nets still have serious defensive questions, Fred VanVleet is getting it done, and the Kings could be relying heavily on Acuff. We also check in on LeBron looking a step slower, before finishing with some WNBA talk around Angel Reese and A’ja Wilson.

As always, there’s I Called Game to round things out.

It’s only preseason, but that’s never stopped us from having opinions.

  • Episode 147 – Reacting to NBA Media Day
    Sep 28 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

NBA MEDIA DAY IS HERE, which means we’re back to overreacting to every quote, photo and five-second interaction before a single meaningful game has even been played.

We kick things off with what we’ve been up to, our own Media Day setups and a deep dive into Matt’s photography setup before reacting to his Miami Heat take. Then we get into the strange Jalen Duren contract situation, why he seemingly isn’t taking the money on offer, the role of his agent Chafie Fields and whether there’s more going on behind the scenes.

From there, it’s time for the Luka conversation. We talk about his Slovenia connection, his YouTube video, and some of the ridiculous things that come with NBA players becoming veterans. LeBron looking old in Media Day pictures, Shai somehow being in Year 9, and the realisation that the 2021 draft class is already entering its seventh season all make us question where the hell the time has gone.

The Spurs also get plenty of attention, with Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper making some interesting comments, plus a conversation about San Antonio’s bench and the amount of young talent around the league. We also react to some very confident — and perhaps not particularly humble — comments from players around the NBA.

Finally, we get into the ridiculous number of wings across the league, Kawhi Leonard finally getting to team up with Scottie Barnes, NBA egos, and why Media Day is one of the best parts of the season for revealing what players are really thinking.

No games. No standings. Just vibes, quotes, photos and NBA players saying things they probably shouldn’t.

  • Episode 146 - Predicting Every NBA Award
    Sep 20 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

We’re back with another predictions pod, and this time we’re handing out the hardware way too early. We kick things off with the Kawhi Leonard trade officially happening, plus a quick look at Kyle Lowry’s retirement and the idea of a Dino statue.

Then it’s time for the NBA Awards Predictions: MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year and Most Improved Player. Wemby is getting plenty of love, with MVP and DPOY predictions flying around, while Shai has to deal with the dreaded voter-fatigue conversation.

The Rookie of the Year debate gets ridiculous as we run through Cam Boozer, AJ Dybantsa, Caleb Wilson, Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey and more, before moving onto the hardest award to predict: Most Improved Player. With the season still so far away, everyone is basically guessing — but that won’t stop us from making definitive predictions.

We also revisit the Lakers’ complete lack of wings, the Jazz potentially swinging up the standings, and Matt making his case for the Miami Heat. There’s some I Called Game, some hatred for NBA fashion, and plenty of early-season agendas being pushed with absolutely no evidence.

Finally, we go back through every award prediction and ask the most important question of all: how badly are we going to regret these picks?
