• Irish Independent Wrestling
    May 17 2026

Brian Maxwell joins Shaz in the Gorilla Room for a conversation about something both lads care deeply about — Irish professional wrestling.

From packed community halls to breakout stars making names for themselves internationally, the episode looks at what makes the Irish wrestling scene unique and why it continues to produce standout talent.

Along the way, the lads discuss wrestlers that casual fans may never have heard of, who stands out in today’s scene, and what separates certain performers from the rest.

Whether you already follow the scene or are completely new to it, this is a good place to start.

  • Can Ireland Host WrestleMania? Councillor Maurice Shortall Responds
    May 14 2026

A slightly different podcast this week.

With Morro laid up in hospital and the other lads away galavanting, Shane sits down with Kilkenny councillor Maurice Shortall to discuss his call for the Irish government to explore the possibility of bringing WrestleMania to Ireland.

The discussion looks at why Maurice believes a WrestleMania event could be a major opportunity for Irish tourism and the wider economy, and whether Ireland could realistically position itself to host one of the biggest events in entertainment.

The original story, broken by Shane for KCLR

, was picked up internationally by outlets including Sports Illustrated and much of the wrestling media, although often without credit to the original reporting.

Shane also puts forward questions submitted by listeners through the Wrestling Fan Wrestling Show Discord, including the obvious one: could WrestleMania genuinely happen in Ireland?

Side note: the recording was repeatedly interrupted by internet issues, so the audio quality is rough in places, but hopefully the conversation is still worth hearing.

  • Its A New Day - WWE’s Reality Under TKO
    May 3 2026

Shaz and Morro are back in the Gorilla Room for a follow-up to last week’s release discussion, this time reacting to the latest names quietly added to WWE.com’s alumni section.

The big shock is the departure of The New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, alongside MFT members JC Mateo and Tonga Loa.

But this episode isn’t really about the individual releases. Instead, the lads focus on the wider business direction of WWE under TKO Group Holdings, and what the company’s current approach means for professional wrestling as a whole.

How sustainable is the system WWE now operates under? What happens when major stars are cycled out more aggressively? And what impact does all of this have on independent wrestling, where fewer promotions exist as genuine alternatives for released talent?

A broader discussion about modern wrestling economics, talent development, and whether the industry is entering a very different era.

  • WWE Releases - A Creative Problem
    Apr 25 2026

Shane and Morro are back in the Gorilla Room to discuss the latest round of WWE releases — and there’s no shortage of talking points.

The headline story is the full release of the Wyatt Sicks, with Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy), Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan and Dexter Lumis all gone. The lads try to make sense of how an entire faction can go from being positioned as something different to completely off the board.

Beyond that, the list of departures raises even more questions. Names like Kairi Sane, Motor City Machine Guns, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Santos Escobar, Zoey Stark and Alba Fyre are all discussed, with a focus on why so many talented performers never found consistent direction.

A big part of the conversation centres on creative. Why does WWE struggle to find compelling stories for certain wrestlers? Is it a case of too many people, not enough time, or something deeper within the system?

Aleister Black becomes a key talking point — after leaving AEW and returning to WWE, very little was done with him before his release. The lads look at how that situation unfolded and what it says about long-term planning.

  • Worst Wrestling Reveals
    Apr 11 2026

The OG three are back as Shaz, Gherkins and “The Draw” Johnny Morts sit down to discuss some of the worst reveals in wrestling history.

Sparked by the recent reveal of Pat McAfee as the voice in Randy Orton’s ear ahead of his match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42, the lads dig into why certain moments that should feel huge end up falling flat.

From Vince McMahon’s “It was me, Austin” reveal in the Attitude Era, to Hornswoggle being placed into major mystery angles, they run through the reveals that didn’t quite land the way they were meant to.

And of course, the big question: would everything be improved if it just turned out to be Jake “The Snake” Roberts?
