We had such a good time with our Feel Good Fall Films that we decided to do two more: PARANORMAN & TURNING RED, two modern classics of animation.

PARANORMAN: A misunderstood boy takes on ghosts, zombies and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries-old curse.

TURNING RED: A thirteen-year-old girl named Mei Lee is torn between staying her mother's dutiful daughter and the changes of adolescence. And as if the challenges were not enough, whenever she gets overly excited Mei transforms into a giant red panda.

Sometimes you have to break your own rules, you know what I mean? While we usually pair an international horror film with an American one, this week, we looked at two American films. We tried not to swear, but that was a fool's errand!

We reviewed THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS & K-POP DEMON HUNTERS. KPDH was new to us, but we revisited NIGHTMARE, which is an old favorite for us both.

Next time we will be looking at MORE Feel Good Fall Films with TURNING RED & PARANORMAN.

This week Mac & I discuss two films that are about Trying to Defy Fate. We looked at the South Korean film A DAY/HARU and FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES from the US. A DAY involves trying to escape a tragic time loop, and FINAL DESTINATION: BLOODLINES involves trying to escape death. One of these films is successful.

On the next main show, Mac & I will discuss "Feel Good Fall Films" with THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS & KPOP DEMON HUNTERS.

This week we looked at two films related to home invasion: SLEEP TIGHT from Spain and SEE FOR ME from Canada/US.

Mom remembered SLEEP TIGHT very differently than her first watch 14 years ago. We had similar thoughts about SEE FOR ME.
